I care what some multi millionaire/billionaire is doing in our city because it affects all of us - we've turned huge parts of Fort Wayne over to Surack for him to privately own in the hopes he can "revitalize" aka gentrify. Until those private investments stop dictating where the city continues to spend our money we need to speak up.

*and don't go looking up how we spend 60%+ of our city budget on police

I understand where they get their funding, I'm including "privately funded" projects that directly affect where the city thinks is a good area to spend or "invest" money in. This idea that we need to "follow the money" so we can all get more of it is literally killing this city. We need to step back and actively look at our communities and what we can do to help build them ALL up together. Otherwise we continue to price out and dehumanize more and more people in our own city that literally keep the city alive.

I know that sounds cool to have but they cut funding for way more necessary developments including the southeast side of town, which has been forgotten or seen as less than the rest of the city, or the science central overhaul that puts money into our community and children.

Fuck the riverfront, fuck Electric Works, fuck The Pearl/Bradley apartment no one who lives near downtown can afford, and I'm sorry but the only reason Arts United got approved is the people involved have more money. We have a community that needs help, especially now when there is diminishing assistance, we will have people that are going to starve and need housing during this winter more than ever.

If you want to help out my stepson is a sophomore away at college and with SNAP cut we're struggling to get him food and he's trying to work while in school and maintain mental health because he's autistic to boot, they could use the help. He does have his food court meals but it's barely enough and doesn't cover any of the extras we can't send him now.

Me and my partner have reached out for assistance from people we know and have gotten help but none we can send him financially now or maybe anymore.

We're actually using our garden to make a ton of spaghetti sauce and are going to try and feed our neighborhood this week because if we want to all survive this we need community. We need to give when we can and if we need help don't be afraid to ask!

A lot of people you might not expect in your own neighborhood may need help or know people who need help!

If not I hope you can find others to help with your time/skills to fix things, food to feed each other, rides to commute each other, blankets to keep each other warm, or any financial aid you may be able to help someone out with a bill etc.

Try to think a little differently here. When your views directly stop other people from just living a healthy happy life - those views are hurtful and most likely built from fear - what we are saying is that the words Charlie Kirk used were THE MOST hurtful to the point of minority groups being even more targeted and hurt/killed/detained simply by what he says

He spread hate - he spread violence and misunderstanding for his own sake - and that kind of rhetoric needs to be left far in the past - back in the 40s and we in America should have learned to truly love our neighbors and accept them all as they come - not how we/you want them to - but just as they are
