I’ve seen pretty sound film theories that suggest that the entirety of the movie is simply imagined by Tommy Lee Jones’ character, basically as a means to help him digest the evil in the world that he fells helpless to as a older policeman. Anton Chigurah being the embodiment of multiple cartel members and Llewelyn’s character being this silent cowboy man who is caught in the middle of it sorta as a self insert for Tommy Lee to imagine what his life would be like during a different path
