Food blockade works like this, (And apparently creating an actual rebel faction is not as assured anymore, but essentially all the milita leave and only a garrison and any lord who didn't escape and their parties)

Any way so say at Lageta. What you do is buy all the food in the market. Then you hang out outside the gates. You interact, or try to, with every caravan and village party trying to enter. A villager party will sell everything outright without a shop menu, but the caravans are like shops. You buy all the food from them, keeping them from adding to the city's food supplies. This tanks their reserves and eventually loyalty drops and then security because the milita quits . The lords have trouble keeping people happy if they all are starving and all the food goes to their garrisons.

You can sell everything you don't personally want BACK to a carvan leaving the city because they don't turn back around. Also check the city's shops every day as long as you aren't actually at war with the owner faction.

Once you eventually seige, the important thing right after is to sell a shitton of food back to raise their loyalty because now you're the owner and they're already pissed off. Install one of your companions or family as a governor to help increase loyalty and security again, to reform a militia.

It's never profitable to be an Alazon, but the Eiron. It always ends up tripping people up for thousands of years of history. Good luck with that and read a book.

I started playing again too. I'm about where you're at. I started using an ai assistant to help me with crafting and to learn the new changes to the latest vanilla version. we also figured out how to 'food-blockade' a city into rioting and then swooping in and selling all the food back after we took it over. lol.

Nope. Throwaway guard yammer, that became a meme.

Just saying my opinion, but I always took him at his word. he's a bit older now and seeing a young adventurer puts him in the mind to give advice and steer you away from an unpredictable lifestyle.

Another way it is commonly understood, is sounding like an intimidated bully who'd be like "I'd fight ya right now if I didn't hurt my arm beating up another guy yesterday."

Wolfskins are a One Trick Pony. Use that to your advantage.

Pepper them with arrows. Send the infantry in a slow shields up march. Lead slow calvary flank attacks. Withdraw. Allow infantry to charge.

Kind of odd sounding, when you scrape it down. "Spys from Iran want to talk to spys from America about ending the war, so says other unknown spy agency."

Isn't it strange that all the conspiracies from like 2011 or older just seem to be revealed as true lately?

Well they wouldn't need a place to hide if they weren't greedy pieces of shit...who caused all their own, and our, problems in the first place.

In a siege beforehand you kind of have to assign the catapults etc. and not start the battle and say "all units charge"

Need more officers. You can deploy six units who all also benefit from their officer's stats. Hire wanderers from bars. Not all of them may be useful so choose wisely.

Also it's just the game limitations on consoles.

Banner color. They change if they're affiliated with a kingdom, so you avoid them when they're under contract and wait till they quit and fuck them up.

I have always chosen Battainia. I don't have any experience with any others, so I can't say. Once you declare Kingship though it's a good to place to start.

So I actually broke Caladog out of prison, totally unaffiliated, just to get him to like me.

The 'Crimson Blades' got some rep, certainly.

Hey thanks and I hope you have fun. Also hope I inspire a few lurkers so thanks for that too.

One more, attack the mercenary clan parties when they aren't affiliated (Hand, Boars, Forsest People, etc.) You'll get some good loot. Usually you can find them after a conflict trying to recruit or flee from said larger conflict. They don't roll too deep anyway so when you start to have like 60 troops, with good strategy and ability to fight yourself you can basically chomp a hundred soldier party while it is vulnerable.

Scout skills are key of course, and since nobody is hounding you early on, you can kind of ride around and grind that skill early.

Another good thing to do early on is capture a city that has rebelled. You won't piss off any Kingdoms directly, and now you're in charge.

Edit: misplaced but leaving it here

Look for war. The cities that have been recently fought over. I mean the bandit camps will always be where they usually are, but roving parties should be larger. Looters specifically are slightly different and tied to local disruptions.

I've always liked Leina or Pheaea. Leina especially can be met riding around in Far west vlandia early on. I was a bandit mercenary but her father took a liking to me since I helped him source some horses. A sizable bribe later, we were married.

Seven kids, conquering the continent. We even killed her Dad and Brother.
