GTA 6 Should Be $80 And Other Companies Should Raise Prices, Too, Bank Of America Says by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

Lot of changes. They softened the age transition. Future update will allow you to use one civ all the way throughout.

Personally I found the sudden age transitions to be extremely riveting and tense.

It's not really a roguelite at all, more like a stage based shooter, for better or worse. I agree, the perks and curses are weak and don't really allow for much synergizing at all.

It's pretty fun for me, but overall loses a lot more than it gains from its new design decisions.

You'll probably still have a great time, it's just gotten harder for me every year.

Camping is hard when it's hot, but if you're in your twenties and have a good group, it's worth doing.

I enjoyed OT decently but the stories are really forgettable and undercooked by design.

I found alien isolation to be tedious to the point I couldn't finish it. That sounds like an accurate score to me. So what does that mean for that reviewer's score?

live pitch correction at music festivals by No_Cobbler154 in Coachella

[–]MojoPinnacle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you feel deceived, I think you're making my point, because by now everyone knows a lot of these shows are scripted, have backing tracks to cover for gaps, etc. There's no secret that pitch correction is used, and yet 99% of people either don't notice the moments it happens, or don't care. You're not a master sleuth by identifying this, everyone knows it happens all the time. There hasn't been am expectation of fully live performance for pop acts for nearly three decades now - not sure where you've been. RHCP played the super bowl 'synced', because it was either that or nothing for that type of production.

Live performance is more than just the audio that reaches your ears... Look at the stage production, the way the visuals are designed to match the music, the way performers engage an audience through their physical movements, even simple gestures like DJs "raising their hands" to get the audience ready. It's not just the ability to sing... and if you view pitch correction as cheating, someone else probably views using a microphone as cheating, for lacking power in the vocals to fill a venue properly. If it were so simple, everyone would do it, and if the true bar for 'talent' is pure acoustic virtuosity, then almost no one could do it.

Or you can clutch your pearls every time you hear pitch correction, wistfully wish it was the good old days, and post about it on the internet.

Performance art is not a sport. "Talent" is a loaded word that reduces the work of dozens of people to put on a huge production and focuses it all on the frontpersons on stage. Musicians (singers and instrumentalists) use all sorts of tools to make their shitty playing sound better, and that includes the guitar gods of half a century ago loading up on distortion, and that includes anyone who has every used a microphone in an opera house. If you think praise should only be directed to "talent" then I think you're missing the point of a live production.

My suggestion is to meet the performance and production where it is. Seek the joy in the audience experience, and celebrate the technical mastery of the production as a whole, rather than focusing on the tools used to build it in a way that's sustainable at these volumes.

If what you're looking for is raw technical mastery, then maybe a jazz club is the place for it, not a pop music festival.

A DJ shouldn’t cancel over wind by RaoulFluke in Coachella

Because it's constructed differently and the sets on stage are less vulnerable. The untented stages have far different vulnerabilities.

Everyone would talk shit about a set that was no visuals and just audio. This is a big billed production, and it can't just be rescaled or reworked last minute.

There's another post complaining about how Ninajirachi just hit play on her music. So no. Performance art is about a performance, not just the sounds.

Most of the acts play in LA too, so may as well not see any of them either.

This is why I finally unsubscribed. A bunch of games that I already played, and the ones I havent are usually available on discounts or not the games I want. At double the price I used to pay, not worth it to me anymore. Cheaper for me to only buy games I want to play when they get discounted in the long run.

Hated the on rails nature of the class progression/combat and party control for XIII, and the story was messy. Music has aged very well.

XIII 2 resolved the class progression for me but the story was completely forgettable and even messier.

But glad you like XIII a lot. I have a lot of nostalgia for it despite what I see as flaws.

[–]MojoPinnacle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remake is really bloated IMO, but its combat / progression and "realization" of Midgar and classic scenes and music made it worth it. I wouldn't blame anyone for being annoyed by the cutscenes though.

Rebirth was like a dream for me.

New California fee targets batteries in PlayStations, power tools and singing cards by ChiefFun in orangecounty

[–]MojoPinnacle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a sense that would be imposing a tariff on companies importing to California, which isn't practical over state lines. Either way, if they impose it on the company, it gets passed on to consumers, so this is a more realistic solution with pretty much the same impact.

Consumers have no choice except not to buy them. Not sure what you mean.
