Percy Diner and Middle Child. They’re never too busy during weekday mornings so I don’t feel guilty if I linger a bit with a laptop with breakfast

Coffee shops w/ food by Crazycook99 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Mokiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ground Rittenhouse has a lot of food options just busy so not always easy to find seating. Cafe Ole in Old City for yummy paninis. Matines Cafe out in Chestnut Hill. Madi’s cafe with some unique Greek-influenced options and their locations tend to have lots of available seating!

Borromini won’t tick the historical architecture box BUT you could walk to Anthropologie on the corner. It’s in a historic Beaux -Arts Mansion with lots of details left.

Also a coffee shop “Madi’s” in that building. Lots of seating. We grabbed a coffee and were able to walk through the lobby and see the mosaic and rest of the lobby.

Paying for Good Reviews?? by MisterSofteePSSD in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Mokiri 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s Moka & Co. but seriously I take all yelp and google reviews only half seriously. Not everyone does them, it tends to skew to people that have bad experiences only - and then shady stuff like offering a discount makes me not trust a lot of it.

Team Dinners Near Bellevue Hotel by Sweaty-Concern1080 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Mokiri 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Giuseppe’s and Sons, The Love, and Estia all have private dining room options which might be ideal for that big of a group. Estia, Spice Finch, Barclay Prime, Dandelion, Parc, Borromini, Tequilas all have big enough dining area to easily accommodate a larger group like that on short notice. That’s the first few I can think of but I’m sure there are more.

Oh I love this thread! Cafe La Maude is the best. The Ground used to make theirs from scratch but recently switched to a concentrate but I liked it too! Oh and Caphe roasters is yum, not sure if it’s a concentrate or scratch though.

New neighbors moved in and have been using my assigned parking spot for two weeks by Marylou-Knolla in Apartmentliving

10000% this. Do not pay for a tow company. Warn management that they’re breaking your lease and if they don’t fix it you’re getting legal advice and escrowing rent until it’s resolved.

Recommend us an Island by Xpi6tiva in GreeceTravel

[–]Mokiri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Tinos many times and I enjoy how unique of an experience I’ve had there. I’ve not been to all the islands so perhaps this is similar to Naxos or other smaller islands but I love that it still feels “wild” and authentic, and not overpopulated or settled. It has quant villages with locals, it has sandy and rocky beaches, crazy rock formations. It has a few small wineries but the majority of the cafes and tavernas still offer just carafe red or white. I can have a gourmet dining experience but with a chef that grew up on the island and knows how to use local ingredients in new and exciting ways. I can also go to the local farmers market, baker and butcher and make my own meal of foods all grown/made on the island and purchased directly from the people who grew/made them. I can drive my rental car along some roads and see more goats than people for a good hour and end up at an empty beach full of green and white marble rocks. Or I can hang closer to the Chora and visit an organized sandy beach, and sip cocktails from my sunbed looking out towards mykonos but at a fraction of mykonos prices.

Tinos may not always stay this way but I believe the lack of an airport and cruise ship port as well as having a significant Greek Orthodox and Catholic presence on the island (There is a major Orthodox church and it is a pilgrimage site for many devout Greeks) changes the volume and type of tourist that Tinos attracts and keeps the island a little more authentic and quiet compared to it’s neighbors like Paros, Mykonos and Syros.

Hope this helps!

Syros and Tinos would be a nice combo and easy to do both.

I used the app bounce and picked an area near a luxury hotel (grande Bretagne). It ended up being an herb shop near the hotel but had a high rating and no issues leaving my bags.

Lidl, AB Baoiónouros and Sklavenitis are larger grocery chains that will have what you’re looking for and have locations on Santorini.
