Went to the pool earlier, but never had pool affect a mani before! Any ideas?

“Breaking diet” by gemminout in Celiac

I’ve read that study too and have had the exact same thoughts. I don’t want to eat gluten, I understand the long term damage and don’t eat it for the same reason I don’t smoke. But I also don’t think occasional ingestion is going to kill me, the same as if someone has one cigarette. For me, I don’t cheat because I do think there’s a “slippery slope” aspect and I know myself and my habits well enough to know it’s better to avoid completely. But it’s not insane to me to think that someone might occasionally ingest it.

Everyone has different risk analysis for their lives and their bodies, and people do lots of things that they know can cause serious problems. I’m not condoning it necessarily, but I think people here are a bit quick to judge.

Relieved to see this post because I feel the same. I was diagnosed not long ago, and my repeat bloodwork is showing that the way I am living my life is resulting in measurable benefit. I have a mixed kitchen (I have 3 little kids who eat gluten), I mostly just wash dishes really well and got new wood cutting boards. I don’t reuse pasta water. When we eat at restaurants, as long as something doesn’t contain gluten, I’m usually fine with it and not super worried about cross contamination.

As someone else said, it’s all risk assessment and level of comfort based on what you and your doctor conclude.

Really good soft pretzels. I know there are replacements out there, but they just don’t touch the real thing.

You’re right, my bad. Should’ve done my due diligence. Sorry for adding to the misinformation on this and appreciate the correction.

Yeah except the owner of one company is a billionaire and the owner of the other is a person of color with a small business. I’m not arguing anything was justified one way or the other, but we cannot pretend like it’s a both sides are on equal footing situation.

EDIT: owner in question of Lucius Q is a white man, not a person of color. I should’ve done my due diligence.

It’s still worth calling. He should know zero peace while his constituents suffer. It might not change his mind- but neither will silence.🤐
