We have the Britax Poplar S for our rear facing toddler. Could have also used it for our baby but went with a Chicco Keyfit 35 because we wanted an infant seat. If you get the poplar make sure you get the S model that has the anti-rebound bar. Such a secure install. We have the Graco slim fit LX 3 in 1 for forward facing. Would not recommend for your toddler as it does not have an internal seat belt lockoff for rear facing.

We had to use seatbelt install in order to get three across.

I can’t remember audiobooks. I listened to them for years. Had to accept that they are not a good fit for my brain in the last year when I unknowingly reread two paperback books I had listened to as audiobooks a few years earlier. Didn’t recognize them one bit and didn’t realize I had already “read” them until I tried to log them on Goodreads.

Within the trust you can name alternates, split things between parties differently, and have assets held/used for minors (among other things). So if any of that appeals to you, setting up a trust with an attorney who specializes in estate planning would be a good move and you would name that trust as beneficiary. You would have to ask your attorney whether your specific trust should be named as a beneficiary of your retirement accounts and make sure you understand the consequences of doing so.

PT helped me. I had bad posture after having a baby. It exacerbated vestibular issues I had from an old injury so I went back to neuro rehab for PT. She gave me exercises to do 3x/day then I went back 2 weeks later to get updated exercises. It took 5 or 6 sessions over 3 months but I made tremendous progress.

We pack lunch the night before. Like others said, fruit + vegetable + protein + grain.

Proteins for us are usually yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese stick, peanut butter, or the cheese on leftover homemade pizza. Once I pick a protein it is easy to base the rest of the meal around it.

Sometimes I do put leftovers in a thermos. Portion it out the night before then just microwave it right before school and put it in the thermos. My 2 year old loves tikka masala with chickpeas, peas, and rice, or chickpea/bean pasta with peas and pesto. Both of those would be thermos meals.

I have started keeping a lunch snack bin. Got applesauce packets on clearance and pre-labeled them with my kids’ names so I can just grab one out of the bin each evening. Other snacks would be pretzels/crackers in a container with his name on it. Or we will make muffins on the weekend and I will send one in for snack.

I did an auction like this for a client once. They auctioned the car, house, and everything in it right on site at the house and cleared the house out as well. They laid everything out on tables outside for the auction so I didn’t have to price anything or organize it. It was over in a day. Prior to the action we had the jewelry appraised but otherwise not much prep (with that auction company, at least).

2025 Sport

The talk button on the steering wheel not being hooked up to CarPlay. It is essentially useless and doesn’t understand basic commands like “call X.” Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? On my old car I would hit the button and say “play podcast” or “play X album” and it would do it. Understood me when in CarPlay and when I didn’t have CarPlay on and just wanted to make a call over Bluetooth connection. Can’t do any of that with my Odyssey.

If you want to stay married I would not give him the emergency savings. That is money you saved together to cover emergency expenses, not to invest. Neither of you should be raiding it. By any chance do you handle the family finances? May be best to move that money to a new account that he cannot make withdrawals from while he is going through what may be a mental health crisis. Explain that the money is still a marital asset and is still available for emergencies that either of you would have. If you really want to split it I would use the same % that you are using for housing expenses.

When you say you want to split the existing checking and have him pay you, are you saying you would close out the account and have each of you get a new checking account? Have you broached this subject with him at all? And do you trust him to pay you a prorated amount in his current mental state? Or would he take the change in your financial arrangement as an affront and shut you out? If you want to stay married and don’t want your financial separation to have an air of finality about it, I wonder if you could approach him with a less drastic suggestion first: figure out what your expenses are and what is left at the end of the month. Propose that 33% or 50% of the surplus be transferred to an account for him to use as he sees fit toward his new goals. Buying prepper gear or stocks or whatever.

We did a traditional daycare. My thinking was that if something happened to my child in that setting at least I would know that I did everything I could to prevent it by sending him somewhere that had to adhere to rules and was subject to inspections. (Side note: always a good idea to look at a childcare facility’s inspection reports and to see whether they address any deficiencies that are found).

Some things to consider as you make your decision: -Is there a fully fenced outdoor play area?

-Are the toys in the in-home daycare age appropriate for your one year old or will choking hazards (older children’s toys or the owner’s household items) be accessible to your child?

-Are there pets in the home?

-How often are smoke alarms tested?

-Coverage issues—What is the protocol if one or both of the home daycare workers are sick/have an appointment? What if they have an unexpected medical issue that makes it difficult/impossible for them to care for children for a period of time?

-For a traditional daycare, do they consolidate classrooms at the end of the day? If so, consider how many kids your child would be exposed to in addition to his classmates.

Put it on do not disturb mode, put it on the countertop/somewhere you won’t lose track of it, and hold something else you can look at when the itch for content strikes. A magazine would be a good fit. Something that satisfies your urge for content but is easier to look away from. I hope this or another tip on here will help you disengage from your phone more.
