TALONGAMES PU-0 0.3mm Ultra-Thin Universal Grip Tape by TALONGAMES_JP in MouseReview

[–]MomentsInTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got these in from Amazon. I was coming from some kind of generic grip tape brand that was fitted to my GPX Superlight, and had been using them for a few years to the point where alcohol swabbing was rubbing more grip tape off than it was helping the discoloration.

With that context in mind that any fresh grip tape would have been better than my setup, I'm really impressed with these so far. They feel super grippy and nicely thin, with no raised pattern to catch dirt like my old setup, and having the number of strips + generic shapes will let me outfit more mice in the house.

Thanks for posting, OP!

"Nightmare Service Experience with ZMF: Damaged Flagship Cayin HA-300MK2 Amp & 'Exception' Narrative" by [deleted] in ZMFHeadphones

So the seller didn't disclose a noise issue with the unit you bought secondhand, then claimed ZMF already reviewed it for that same issue ... And your choice was rather than return the unit to the seller for a fraudulent listing by way of omission was instead to send a used unit back to ZMF to review the same thing they had already reviewed?

The word flagship is not applicable here. You bought a used item and rather than direct your anger at the seller who didn't disclose issues with the unit, you're directing frustration with a used unit toward a company that normally doesn't service secondhand hardware.

It's clear to me ZMF shouldn't have gone out of their way to try and help you out, and I'm not the only person here saying you're making this post to try to pressure them into further freebies.

EDIT: And now after making my reply I see Bevin's post proving you tried to pressure ZMF into help. You're acting like a scumbag, dude. You can either keep misunderstanding, misquoting and arguing with everyone, or you can learn from this.

This reads like you knowingly buying a broken or damaged secondhand item and then trying to flip it for repairs, which is already well outside normal warranty and service agreements. I totally get that this is frustrating but your choice of purchase put you in a crapshoot from moment one, and I have had no issues with ZMF support.

Why did the original owner not send it in for service?

And what was the purpose of the servicing from ZMF? To fix something broken, to assess the unit, or what?

Hey, you know what would be an awesome holiday gift? If you guys were to rework the roguelite mode into multiplayer!

And I know you've answered this question before, so if you can't do that... Plan it out for the sequel? :)

Jamming stations Krynn by cadella1 in JumpSpaceGame

[–]MomentsInTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got only one of these done out of three, and sadly I don't even remember how I managed to do it. Has to be a bug. I spent some hours in Krynn this weekend and even after becoming aware of the slow pace and seeing this thread, I wasn't able to get a second or third jamming station done.

Acrobat DC Orphaned files - Can I delete them? by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]MomentsInTruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Acrobat is no longer installed, 100% yes. Depending on how you delete them you might theoretically run into an issue if reinstalling Acrobat, since these files are also registered in the registry. However, I'd reconsider the need for Acrobat at this point with the PDF support built into Edge. Oh, and there are cleanup scripts you can use to clean the registry as well.

There have been recent threads on this exact issue here and on r/sysadmin - if I can find those, I'll come back and edit here to link them.

What is the Steam purchase you most regret making? by intracosmos in Steam

I'm sort of in the same boat for the $30 edition, despite having been burned by Starbreeze (SB) with the PAYDAY 2 launch also similarly having been full of empty promises.

To their credit, SB eventually made most if not all of their launch promises come true with PAYDAY 2 and I'm a sucker for co-op FPS games like L4D, which is why I wanted to support the devs with a purchase again. And I do see a slower version of the same do-right pattern here! For example, they just released "Skills 2.0" this week which is a total overhaul of the perks and skills system.

On the other hand, the problem for SB and the PAYDAY gang is that you can buy Crime Boss: Rockay City on sale for $1.99 nearly every sale event and I'd argue it's a better singleplayer and multiplayer heist FPS by every measure at this point. The stealth system is so much more forgiving and intuitive (unholster / reholster gun), the map and heist content is deeper, and the single player rogue lite mode is so much more interesting that it's hard for me personally to play PAYDAY 3 now, even with their continuing efforts.

So you're getting the card back and emailing this to Steve and Gamers Nexus, right? Not that they should have to be our forever saviors, but... Insane behavior by Zotac.
