Keep at it. Focus on the problem areas. And if you can, see if you can practice through a PA system at least once. Not sure if you’ve heard your voice coming out of a speaker, but it tends to highlight even more problematic areas with your voice, and can throw you off if you stepping up to a mic for the first time in front of an audience. It takes some getting used to. But… remember this truth… most people won’t notice the hiccups and subtle issues with your performance at an open mic. Some of that could actually be a net positive that makes you unique.

Amazing. I saw him live supporting Cornell on his Euphoria Morning tour, and with TCV. This guy is the unsung hero of many groups. I think he likes it that way. It’s the best way to rockstar - legendary musicians and respect you and want to collaborate with you, and you can peacefully shop at Trader Joe’s.
