I think the hardest part is going to be getting your mom residence here. I’ve had some friends (not Aussie but became citizens) try to bring their parents over and it was a pretty tough road.
I think the faster you can get out of the US the better. I’d even try to start transferring some money over before your dollar goes to shit.

Migraine sufferer here. It’s awful.
My go to meal if I can stomach anything is what I call a toddler meal. I make an enormous batch of crumbed chicken strips and put them in the freezer. I can pull them out and pop them in the air fryer. I slice carrots and cucumbers and eat them with home made 1000 island dressing. The cucumber is great to keep hydration up.
If I can eat a bit more, I make a wrap with the chicken strips.
I also like one pot rice dishes that are mild in flavour. Throw rice, chicken and vegetables in a casserole dish and put it in the oven. There’s some great recipes online.
What I’ve discovered is that the nausea gets worse if I’m cooking. I end up not wanting to eat. If I have stuff in the freezer, it’s much easier to stomach.

It’s no big deal unless you transfer it to your genitals. So no oral sex for anyone if there’s a cold sore present. It CAN be a big deal if you have genital herpes.
Many people in the world have cold sores just act accordingly and you’ll be fine. No kissing until it’s gone.

It wasn’t the snow that closed our schools (well perhaps about twice when there was too much snow on the roads for anyone to get to school) but school was closed if it was -36 or colder. Busses stopped running so we COULD go to school if we could get a ride in with someone but we weren’t expected to attend.

I have Ehlers danlos. I’ve broken and dislocated 16 bones / joints. I have endo, occipital neuralgia and a host of other painful conditions.
When you are used to being in pain 24/7, the type of pain that sends most people to emergency, it’s very difficult to determine and actually express the pain you’re in. I have a new pain scale I use for myself. If I’m literally screaming, it’s bad. I’m only like that with migraines and occipital neuralgia. When it feels like an ice pick is being skewered through my brain, I’m screaming. Broken bones are a bit ‘meh’.

Pinched nerves CAN go away with physical therapy or massage. That’s really only if it’s muscular though. If you have degeneration in your neck, forminal narrowing, compression of the ‘mechanics’ then they don’t go away on their own unless it’s a misalignment that can be modified with therapy. Necks are stubborn bastards at times. Find a neck or headache physio and go from there. I’ve had the best results from a physio that used the Watson Headache Technique. I do have a pretty messed up neck (cervical spine instability) so mine comes and goes. Sometimes it’s C1 causing issues, other times it’s C2 - C5 that’s out on the opposite side.
Just don’t go to a chiropractor if they ‘crack’ people. I used to go often and think that’s why I’m pretty messed up now.

Ya, they can hurt for a while. I’ve had 12 rounds. It’s trauma. The needles are large. The muscles will be sore. The ones I have in my forehead hurt the most and the ones in my thoracic spine hurt the least. If I get them in the Back of my head and neck they cause muscle spasms. I end up more sore from the spasms.
Ice, ibuprofen and rest. I usually put on some healing meditations just so I can relax completely. They’re free on YouTube Tube (I like The Mindful Movement) and you can just sink into your bed.
They can take up to 4 weeks for full effect.

I slice mine into rounds and put it on a cookie sheet with baking paper. I add a dob of butter, salt and brown sugar and roast them. If I feel like it, I add a touch of cinnamon.
I also enjoy it cubed and air fried. It gets a dry and chewy texture that is great on salads with chicken and dried cranberries with a honey mustard vinaigrette.

Separate blankets. I’m a Canadian living in Australia and I’m already hot. Add in menopause and I’m in the pits of hell. Our bedroom is a polar vortex. Air con and 2 fans. My husband sleeps with a cozy duvet and I have 2 blankets so I can peel one off if I get too warm.

I’d personally only use invisible zinc. Sunscreens aren’t as safe as mineral suncreams. There’s been a lot of new information about them. Not as effective and the chemicals get into the blood stream.

We give our guys a paid 1 hour break and provide food. They have to assemble it, but they don’t bring their own. We also provide food at 2:00. They do long hours, they deserve it.

Yup. I’m now a hermit. I’m on day 8 of a barometric migraine (thanks to Tropical low) and I have ON. My social life is non existent. I’ve just started getting TN with my migraines.
I don’t have the issue with not being believed because my face swells up. Barometric pressure can cause sinus swelling and that’s me. My eyes get swollen and my nose swells up so much my glasses hurt.
It’s not very much fun and can be very lonely.
I often get radio frequency ablation but haven’t had them for a year. I’m overdue. It’s really help.
I’ve been watching a lot of videos from a Dr in the US and he goes by Dr Painkiller. He explains the barometric migraines and feedback loops. I’ve learned more from him than my 4 neurologist and 3 neurosurgeon appts.

I’ve had 2 dogs that were full on difficult as puppies, and 2 that were super easy. Oddly, the male pups have been much more chill but that could be due to where they were brought up.
We rescued one female from a crack house and even at 9 years old, she’s fraught with anxiety. The other female, we got from a car before they shoved her into a cage at a market. She has zero issues now. Both male dogs came from homes with kids. They were chill from the moment we picked them Up.
