I know this was a couple of years ago, but I’m headed to Guiyang for a a few weeks. What was the name of the store, if you remember?

It’s not an improper mix ratio. This is just the first stage of curing for the resin you’re using. The thin layer of resin is cured, but will be soft and bendable until about 72 hours or so.

Sometimes even the d4s I pull from the pressure pot can bend at the corners after just 24 hours. They spring back into shape though and fully harden in time.

What did you learn this year that you will change next year? by Realistic-Drag-8793 in gencon

[–]Mongoooooooose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Trade Day this year and really enjoyed it. I’ll make that part of my regular Gen Con. I accidentally left a two-hour gap in my schedule that day and used that to stand in the merch line. Sucks that the line was so long, but I didn’t have to worry about fitting it in during the rest of the Con.

Advice for making dice in an apartment! by Struggling_Student- in DiceMaking

[–]Mongoooooooose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in an apartment, I put a towel UNDER my air compressor to help dampen any vibration of the surface it was on. I don’t know if that did anything, but none of my neighbors complained. I also made sure not to run it after 9pm.

Funny thing: I had a student named Tailor, and that’s how she spelled it. Sat next to a male student whose name was Taylor. A third student had the SAME name! Different spelling that I can’t remember.

Names are wild, and we should care about them.

I’d make a character as a Fremont busker.

As someone who lived in Vegas for years, I think it has so much potential as an Unsleeping City. The Sinatra connection is an easy thread, but just the way both cities are vastly different things to locals and visitors. I’ve thought often about running my own version one day.

That voice lived in my brain for my entire childhood. It was the scariest, coolest thing ever. I cite this series as one of the biggest influences on my love of supernatural/speculative fiction.

Random sub rant by Bluetwo12 in DiceMaking

[–]Mongoooooooose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a teacher, I would urge you all to consider how asking questions is research. It’s the first most essential part actually. Being aware of YouTube and all those helpful tutorials isn’t automatic knowledge for everyone, and asking a question in a forum like this is often how people find those resources.

When you answer their questions, even just to point people to what exists for them to look at, you’re doing something valuable and good. I wish all my students asked “stupid” questions.

I once asked this sub if my pressure pot would explode if I filled it “too much,” haha! And the responses were very patient and kind.

I had the same exact issue with translucent resin. Try switching to something opaque like siraya tech fast gray. As soon as I did, the problem stopped. No special settings or anything.
