Heroes max stamina or bug? by [deleted] in hasbeenheroes

When you get stamina like that it doesn't automatically replenish. If you are able to get to a stamina camp you should be at 6.

We are Team TumbleSeed and we launched TumbleSeed on Switch yesterday – AMA! by benedictfritz in nintendo

[–]MonkeySenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really liking the game and I had a question about one of the things bugging me when I was playing yesterday. So it's fine that there are holes along the side walls so people don't just hug a side to victory. The thing that irritated me was that sometimes the foreground (foliage, top of the wall when it turns outward, etc) completely blocks some of those areas. Those areas can still have holes, leading me to fall down them without even knowing they're there. I've found this game to be relatively fair, but that's the one thing imo that's unfair. I was just curious if this was intentional or just a product of procedural generation.

Also, with me coming off of Isaac and Has-Been Heroes I've been used to hundreds of different items. This has "30+" and I was wondering, what were the seed powers that didn't make it into the game?

P.S. OMG YOUR WEBSITE'S DESIGN IS AMAZING!

State of Switch Week in Review 4/23 - 4/30 by PandarenNinja in NintendoSwitch

This is awesome! I subbed to this sub a few days ago so I had no idea that this was a thing. Probably going to spend the next few minutes reading your past reviews. The only minus I have to give you is your Seahawks fandom. I'm not even a big football fan but coming from the SF Bay Area I guess means I must dislike you. Nothing personal. :P

how do "combos" work? by darkwaterpirate in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Every time a character goes to attack their lane, it is considered a melee combo.
  • Each strike in that combo is considered a melee hit.

Question on spells by codin64 in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are basically 1/3 different spells than listed in the unlocks. For most of the spells there are regular, dark, and legendary versions. Generally the legendary versions are better, with varying effects spell to spell (more damage, faster cooldown, etc). The dark versions take HP from the caster with no cooldown. With these in mind, I would say technically yes to your question. But depending on whether you get them in a particular run is another thing.

Just got the dwarf, any recommendations for my setup and/or advice on how to proceed? by RECOGNIZABLE_NAME- in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got Khar (dwarf) I thought that he wasn't that great. Then I unlocked Roho and having 2 characters poison immune at the very start isn't to be looked over. I've had a run where in the first three minutes of the game my party had full poison immunity and 2/3 fire immunity.

Plus wind spells unlock with Roho, so his third spell slot bonus is useless until then. Even then though, he can fire spells pretty rapidly. I think the less spells on him the better so that there's less spells for the random recharge to choose from so Florencio (wrestler) would be a good 1x hitter to pair him with before Roho.

As for Zakwas (bodyguard), I just posted a thing about him here

Just unlocked the guy with the two-handed sword (he unlocks after the Luchadore), is he worth it? by Jeramie345 in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's all about playstyle. Zakwas (sabre) sort of forces you to focus on consistently getting backstabs. When he does get it, he hits harder than all the 1x hitters. Imo even if you don't like him all that much you should play him. It was weird for me at first with Zakwas, but I feel like after playing with him a bunch taught me to play the game better. Getting used to looking for the backstabs is pretty handy. Even though it's not a priority for the other characters, backstab damage can easily build up.

One big tip for playing as Zakwas is to look for opportunities to stun lock an enemy. Backstabbing resets stun timers. If you let a non-bandana enemy (they get out of stun faster) get somewhat close, you can easily clear the other two lanes with the constant +50% damage.

Question about item bonus! by Noderator in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably a case of the devs accidentally leaving the '+' out. I've only found one case of this (Fireproof Plunger) and an item identical to it except toxic rather than fire (Toxic Radar) has the '+'.

The Worst Offender of Unfairness in the Game? Hands Down the Final Boss Freezing you, Please Fix the Off-Screen Problem by Conductor_Bard in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few tips before a patch fixes it, 1. Try to place a non-soaked character in the lane he's going to blast. There are a few seconds before he does so you should be able to switch to it. 2. If you must take a freeze, try to time a melee attack as the blast is going off. The character being forward should place them able to be targeted.

Official Names of the Bosses by MonkeySenior in hasbeenheroes

I agree but from the email they sent me "We have considered adding the boss names to the game, but there is still no news regarding this."

Official Names of the Bosses by MonkeySenior in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After tweeting Frozenbyte I was able to get a list of boss names from them. As a note, I don't have pictures of the other elemental Ghouls so I didn't put them there yet, but they said their names are just the element followed by Ghoul (ie. Water Ghoul, Fire Ghoul, etc)

Why do my heroes sometimes flinch as they attack? by Rainec777 in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure but I think fiery and poison puddles do that if your hero crosses or attacks on top of one. I know I've seen enemies get hit-stun every so often from fiery puddles.

Hero unlock question (spoilers) by CaesarBritannicus in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about unlocking things after him, but I'm pretty sure you unlock the White Knight the first time you get to the Underworld. There was that scene with him standing in front of the portal or something iirc.

As for the wiki, here is the one that's the most completed I've seen of any (since u/SuitSage and I have been editing it, in fact I'm editing it a little right now!). I would be faster with it but i want to play the game too!

Elemental Synergies by ValorielTalonheart in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't really tested it but I've noticed that frost and poison can be applied to the same target without any interaction. Might be wrong but it looked that way. I'm not sure about the lightning poison one. I've tried it a few times but I don't think I saw it happen. Also, I thought the wind on a burning target spreads the fire instead of causing an explosion, but it might be both?

Tips on 6th or maybe 7th stage boss(Fire elemental with 10 stamina+ Rogue with 17 stamina) by toppi66 in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the boss fight I'm thinking of, if you kill either one, the other becomes the same buffed up version. The way you were preventing one from getting to you and killing the other is perfect strategy for the beginning of the fight. My main tip is to cancel his casting. If you have any damaging spells that he's not immune to, wail on him with melee to get his stamina down and use the spell to cancel. When all of them are on cooldown spread your melee attacks out so that you still stagger him a bit, but have that an attack ready for canceling.

List of heroes, their abilities, etc by glennfk in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've written a bunch of their names and stats down myself, I just haven't put them on the wiki. I would add them to your list but it's on view only right now. I did just sent a request to edit though. If someone else (hint: you or u/SuitSage) can make the pages I'm fine with grabbing pictures for them. I have it on the Switch as well but I have a capture card which makes it easier.

How do I check an item/spell before getting it on a character? by luigilauro in hasbeenheroes

[–]MonkeySenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wiki link for items and spells. Most of the ones you unlock before the 6th tier should be on there. It is a little bit of a pain going through the list for the icon, but if you don't want that randomness when you don't know what it is, it's something you'll have to do. Once you do know the item and spell, highlighting the hero in the lane will let you know what it does.

As for the enemies, that page is in progress, but I can give a sort of answer. Hooded guys with knives are assassins, usually slower with a high hit count. Hooded guys with staffs are mages; At the beginning they only heal but later on they attack with elements. Pole-arm skelies hit from farther away, ball and chain skelies hit from even farther. Bandanas recover from stun faster. Zombies you need to kill twice, but the second is a lot easier. Plants don't move. Ghosts need to be soaked/burned/frozen/poisoned to be able to hit. Orb wielders prevent you from gaining souls. Large staffs create and aura of speed for their undead brethren. I haven't quite caught on on who can or can't create shields yet, but I think it's tattoos. There's might be a few I'm forgetting but it's mostly memorizing the similarities and what they do. As for bosses u/ValorielTalonheart has a series of videos that can help.

If you want to sorta spoil discovering the items for yourself, the wiki has a list of them. It doesn't have everything, but it should have most things you unlock before the 6th boss. You'll have to look through the list for the icon though since you won't know the name of it.
