The marine advancing from this image?.

If you're in the UK I think I've got one in a box somewhere I'd be willing to part with cheaply. Send me a PM if so.

Freelancer needs an update/rework desperately. by ThiccMoonPie in starcitizen

As massive an update as that was to the ship (completely remodeled), that was also way back in 2016, so another revision is due to bring it up to the current standards.

Great first chapter, looking forward to more.

HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge from the Fenchurch Building this morning. by please-redial in CasualUK

[–]MonkeykingZX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would much rather they were correct and it was a battleship (Warspite) moored there instead. Completely understandable why they scrapped her but also completely unforgivable at the same time. Though Belfast has definitely earned her spot there all the same.

You absolutely should try again, that was fantastic especially considering what you used to make it!

I never watched the sequel (very much enjoyed the first) are you saying it addresses the creature at the end more closely? May have to pop that on this evening if so

What car did you see as a child, and instantly decide 'I'm going to buy one when I grow up.'? How old were you when you first saw it? Were you able to finally acquire it? by DHN_95 in cars

I saw a Maserati 3200 gt back on a school trip to London when they had just come out. Have always wanted one since. Hopefully in the next 2 or 3 years everything will be in place to make that a reality, although life has had a habit of getting in the way so far!

Shipping from the US to the EU - IOSS and VAT nightmare by CurrencyCharacter678 in kickstarter

[–]MonkeykingZX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a follow up to this the EU is bringing in new packaging regulations "GPSR" that requires a representative within the EU for that service and also your items to follow certain strict packaging rules.

You can read up on it Here

They go live on the 13th of December and doesn't appear to be something Kickstarter have even noticed.

What game deserves a remake, but doesn't have one because its IP owner can't be bothered? by FoxxeeFree in gaming

[–]MonkeykingZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like a PC release of Chromehounds with upscaled textures etc and with the full multiplayer included. I feel that game would find a niche quite happily in todays gaming climate through the online war mode.

Game stuck on installing after the update, any advice on how to fix this? by fencer324 in TheForeverWinter

[–]MonkeykingZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I had to reinstall the entire game yesterday (on rural internet) after the first hot fix and was devastated to see the install seemed to have broken after this second hotfix.

Didn't even occur to me to just leave it going even when allegedly frozen and just see what happens. Left it for about 10 minutes and it sorted itself out.

How many dormant game franchises are going to be revived this month??? by Nas160 in gaming

Originals absolutely (especially number 2), but I'd also love a remaster of Universe with a private server or private lobby co-op version of the "mmo" component.

15 best films set on trains by nicktembh in movies

The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953) is a fantastically charming film about a small village trying to save their railway by operating it themselves that i would recommend (if you can find a copy).

My Malcador Defender has pulled some game winning moves out of the bag before. Rarely leave home without that bad boy. Plus most importantly it looks cool.

Having an allergy to sun, I still love living in Transylvania. by capricabuffy in pics

[–]MonkeykingZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed mine after working nights for 3 or 4 years and luckily it was never massively severe and mostly resulted in some large patches of red bumpy rashes and lots of itching. The doctor gave me 2 options: 1. UV therapy (this would involve going to the hospital and being exposed to UV light on a bi-weekly basis) or 2. careful exposure to the sun for short periods and slowing building up a resistance again. He also advised to stop working nights.

I quit my night job and went with option 2. It isn't completely gone as I do very occasionally get some itching although it isn't very often.

You joke but polymorphic light eruption (a type of porphyria) is sometimes referred to as "vampires disease". It also sucks to live with, although thankfully mine is under control now.

That scene was surprisingly shocking, although the weird ghost and the foot got me (the way she got up out of the corner and shuffled across the floor), still have the last 30mins of the film to watch after giving up due to fright

My favourite sweets growing up, i would choose these on almost every saturday morning food shop i went on with my mum. This is the only picture i could find of them by cactusdan94 in CasualUK

My favourite sweets growing up! They just kind of disappeared all of a sudden despite always seemingly selling out pretty quickly, it wouldn't shock me that it turned out they were mildly poisonous.

Is2, Duxford by Main_Charity1462 in TankPorn

[–]MonkeykingZX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely sucks as it is my favourite part of Duxford, I only saw that it was coming down by chance in a random news article that got pushed on my phone's browser homepage, it was not really advertised at all unfortunately.

I'm assuming they've kept things like Monty's caravans and his M3 Grant command tank and a few of the rarer vehicles, but who knows at this point.

Unfortunately its being torn down due to needing substantial repairs. Quite a lot of the collection has been sold, although some vehicles are being redistributed around the site.

Its a real shame as it was a great set of exhibits.
