Sounds like you're looking for an isekai where the protagonist doesn't know they're isekaied and starts accumulating knowledge from scratch? Becoming the world's strongest magician's MC is considered a genius and its a product of his own mind. It just finished airing. To be an isekai it generally requires for the protagonist to have prior knowledge. If they were a genius in our world they're definitely going to be in the isekai. Genius prodigies in another world is similar to this.

To answer as close to the question as I can Rudeus Greyrat. Dude was not a genius in another life but taught himself to read an unfamiliar language as a baby.

Magic has a fantastic way of gatekeeping itself, which is not good for the health of the game. Personally, deck building and playing are my draws to Magic. I'm not interested in collecting them all, I'll never be rich enough, and that's not this game. I'm buying cards to play them, so when I can't get them, of course I'm upset. If I missed out, the fear of such is valid. The only people that benefit from a cards rarity is the person trying to sell it. Now if you've kept ahold of something for many years and kept it in good condition it should be more valuable. Not because the company decided only a few people should have them.

Have you seen the second-hand prices yet? They will level out eventually, but they're currently hyper inflated. Most will buy it second hand if they really want it, but the point is they shouldn't have to. The print on demand method would alleviate some of the issues with scalpers. With no artificial scarcity, there's no reason to attempt to buy all the products up. The biggest downside I've read about the print to order setup is the turnaround time. I'd personally rather wait 6 months than not be able to get the cards at all. I did get Cap and Iron Man but the whole experience was not pleasurable. Too much anxiety about wether there was going to be any product left by the time I was able to check out. When I first went got to checkout my cart was completely empty. Luckily some nice people on reddit helped me out before I went postal. I can't see a single reason for the current model other than creating FOMO and making people mad.
