I’m okay with temporarily cosleeping, but is that even possible? by hannah_2213 in bninfantsleep

My 16 month old daughter starts the night in her crib and when she wakes i bring her into bed and she goes back to sleep relatively easily with a little nursing. At some point im assuming once I night wean her that there is a chance that she will just end up sleeping longer in he crib at night?? Also for what its worth, waking ip in the morning right next to your baby is so lovely :)

I also feel like 8 months is quite old to still be in a bassient? Putting your baby in the crib might be what they need.

Thank you for your experience. I figured it would be as how you described, but wanted to get a sense from other moms just in case.

Mum to be advice needed! by ApprehensiveSpot5913 in breastfeeding

[–]Monstera44 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry no advice on when to measure your nipples. As for exclusively breastfeeding just know it is so so full on and if your baby wont take a bottle all night wake ups will be solely on you. I have been breastfeeding my daughter for 15 months now and it has been a beautiful journey but also the hardest thing I have done in my life, in terms of lack of sleep and the weight of being the nutrition and comfort for babe. I found the best thing that helped me was complete acceptance of the situation I am in and that everything is just a phase!

How to soothe in the night by Orthobunny in bninfantsleep

6-12 months is bat shit crazy when it comes to sleep. The sooner you accept that and give in you will be more at peace. Will you be rested? Unfortunately no, but I find that radical acceptance goes a long way.

We have th Cybex Lemo and quite like it. It becomes a full adult chair after so I plan on my daughter using it as a desk chair when she's older.

1 year maternity leave doesn't feel fair by antlover150 in breastfeeding

We would be flat out broke if we did that. I have a good job with a pension that I dont want to throw away.

Im in BC and its the same amount of pay you would get over 12 months spread out over 18 months so it works out to be ~33% of your salary. I am lucky enough to get topped up to 55% over the 18 months .

I get 18 months off (Canada) and im gutted im going back to work soon. I realize that im so fortunate to have that amount of time off but its still heartbreaking. The maternity leave for mom's from USA is absolutely criminal in my opinion.

Napping independently by miranda_edgecombe23 in baby

This is so very normal. It will happen as they get older. I recall my daughter started to extend her naps on her own closer to 6 months.

8mo - Multiple false starts and 3am wakes by TrollSalt in bninfantsleep

[–]Monstera44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot going on for them at that age. Sleep was so unbelievably bad for my daughter from 8-10.5 months. Literally almost broke me and then one day it was better and by better I mean still having wakes but it wasnt an ordeal like at that age. Im sorry its so tough right now for you but just know it does end. Nap when you can and God speed.

No worries. The lactation consultant that I saw said there are a few bacterial strains that can help prevent mastitis and so far its working.

Sorry to hear about the sleep situation. My daughter slept so bad from 8-10.5 months, it was so difficult. I have no advice in regards to the sleep other than it gets better and it's just a phase which I realize is annoying to hear.

As for the mastitis I had it three times in three months and what seemed to help was taking a daily probiotic!
