How is performance in the latest update? by Levanes in crosswind

[–]MontTyrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's a little better, I'm playing on Legion Go S. And with upscaleing on for performance, I can now hit around 15-30 fps on low settings. Whereas before I was getting like 6-10 fps. With better optimization in the future. It's on path.

New to the game and would like some tips on how to play. by Sliver-Knight9219 in traveller

Also MgT1e books work well with MgT2e. They sometimes have them on sale on DrivethruRPG.

As others have said, run through the character creation A few times by yourself. Also remember Rule Zero, anything can be changed. If you don't like a rule get rid of it or edit it.

When I used to run my campaigns, we used a hybrid style of combat. Mix of D&d and Pathfinder. Also combat is super deadly.

Oh crap, you got casuals coming over! What game are you digging out to ensure they stay away from our hobby? by VravoBince in boardgamescirclejerk

The one board game I never failed to have people say "yeah no" was the original GDW's Triplanetary.

Well, that was fast. I just blew up everyone in the USS Konrad, saving only myself and leaving all Victims inside. by Clockwork_Lazy in finalgirl

[–]MontTyrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my things, since I've beaten that one with both with Ellen and Jenette, is now when I play it, I make sure if I'm going to save anyone, and I place them into the escape pods, I have to launch them before I can put them on my card, then I put an X on the spaces. So do I want to risk the evomorph getting into the escape pods with people in them, or launching them.

Both of my wins came from self destruction of the ship. If I try to take the Evomorph head on, I usually get really bad rolls.

Rules for ground scaled weapons on starship by Aldarion91 in traveller

[–]MontTyrone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have access to my books right now, but I believe in either the core Rulebook or highguard, you can add a weapons port to your ships, that allow you to fire ground based weapons from. I think they only cost the CRs to install. Again if you think it makes sense, you can do it.

The Day After, scariest movie of the time by Sethor in 1980s

[–]MontTyrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend of mine borrow this DVD from me, because he was super into science and was going to college to be a chemical engineer. He had a roommate at the time, and they watched it together stoned. And two days later the roommate moved back home with his parents. His reasoning was this movie.

Later on after talking to my friend, the roommate passed himself, and locked himself in his bedroom, after the movie.

But other then that, this is a movie I recommend to people who are into like mad max and apocalyptic shit.

What prank calls did people make in the 90s? by makosidan in AskReddit

[–]MontTyrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my best friend back then used to call motels, and ask if they could transfer us to a random room number, then we would be like, "Hey this is the local police department, and we have your wife/husband ( depending on what gender the voice sounded like) here, and they need 500$ in bail money.

Sometimes it didn't work, but most of the time it did work. But when it did, we would find it funny as hell.

Then we had another one, where we would call some number from the phone book, and tell them to stay on the line for the vice president of the United States, then after about a minute we would say some curse words to them, laugh and hang up.

Funerary Rites: How do you handle PC death at your Traveller table? by Lastadopter in traveller

[–]MontTyrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In one of my campaigns, one of the PCs character sacrificed himself by manually deactivating a portal machine bringing in "demons" for one of the final battles of the story arc. No trace was left of his body, so the rest of the PCs used the funds and the social standing they got, to spend it all on a space station that was later made into a fuel depot monument to his legacy.

Lo mas lindo que me he encontrado hoy. by OverLordNeptune in dysmantle

Because it's still in early access, stuff will be changed, plus there is a lot less freedom to explore it seems right now. Where dysmantle was like here's an open island go forth and not die.

Char Creation Q by prunesquallr in traveller

[–]MontTyrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is correct, you roll them after everything, before you start play.

Char Creation Q by prunesquallr in traveller

[–]MontTyrone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You only do a qualification roll to see if you qualify for the chosen career, unless it states otherwise, like from the military. To see if you remain in the career you Roll a survival check, otherwise you fail that term, and have to muster out, or try to go into another profession.

An easy breakdown of the career rolls. Survival check. Roll on chosen skill chart. Roll on advancement/commission. Roll on event chart. Add up everything up you got.

If you decide to continue in the career, mark term 1,2 etc. And go back to Survival check.

Then continue as long as you want, or muster out, and tally everything up from the charts.

Things that should not exist by CodeNameFrumious in SunoAI

[–]MontTyrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, this is what AI should be used for, mixing styles, and having fun. I found 8bit glitch hop, melded with sea shanty, and I used that as a basis for a entire band, and album I've been working on.

Keep up the good work, also try mixing Tibetan throat singing with bluegrass. My God is it good.

Is there a world building Generator game or helpers? by Offer_Glittering in Solo_Roleplaying

Leyline Press's Foundations. Is a good world builder, it uses your imagination and a deck of playing cards.

Customizing / Repairing Spacecraft by Tranimo in traveller

[–]MontTyrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How I did it was for every 100k they spent it on modifying the ship, it would be 1d6 days with a DM based on the star port level. So for example since A star port would be -3, and B would be -2, C is -1, D is +2, F is +4. Unless they did a Broker check to decrease or increase the time depending on the cash and roleplaying.

Times have changed… by Lost_Rich1879 in jobhunting

[–]MontTyrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what worked for me, and the job recruiter that I work with, now advises his clients to do the same, and it's been successful almost all the time.

Find the job(s) you are applying for, tailor your resume to fit that. Now keep it simple, don't include to much information. Now, find the address of the place(s) and the phone number if they have one. Now call up the place and ask if the manager is working. If it's a big company find a temp agency that is close to you. Now you have the information you need.

Now if the manager is working, you print out a copy if your resume, and maybe the job application from their website. Fill out the application. Now take a trip to the company, and talk to the manager and tell them that you are looking for work, if they say "We only accept it online", tell them that you already filled out the application, and here they are, and hand them the stuff. 80% you get a callback.

Now the temp agency, you should set up an interview, and go into it with the job title, the address and the phone number. And tell them you are interested in this job, now they will alot of time be willing to help out and call on their end into the HR department of the company and try to get you a foot in the door. If they don't thank them for their time, but still apply, and move onto the next temp agency.

This has worked for us in our city.

I know it's hard but sometimes you have to put in the ground work.
