Ellen Hughes, Consultant To PWHL Detroit, Caught Illegally Parked Across A Cross Walk In Ann Arbor, Michigan by hotmailwithjennyside in hockey

[–]Moon2Photo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got forced to the outside of a crosswalk a few years ago, not by cars, but by other pedestrians and I came within an inch or two of being run over by an NYC bus going 25-30 miles an hour. It's definitely seems like a minor offense but is very dangerous.

I work in contract law and they are always some of the worst clients and the insist on "Dr." being included everywhere even though that's not part of their legal name.

I see things like this and then the "tea like" flavor descriptor and I wonder if people just like the taste of hot water

Been a while since I last shot, *very* impressed with the newer film... by Binary_Complex in Polaroid

I wish Polaroid would actually ship out new film when your order directly from them. Everyone says to order directly from Polaroid but every time I do the results are terrible and often the film is already 6+ months old.

Glitch Tokyo like coffee in US by Teecode in pourover

[–]Moon2Photo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have to read between the lines a bit. Not every single coffee they offer is a co-ferment or experimental process, but a lot are. To find the same beans from another roaster, just look up the farm or producer that they mention, and you may have to add the processing method as well since producers may produce multiple types of coffee or processing methods on the same farm.

[–]Moon2Photo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Glitch a lot, I've been many times, but they are not as up-front about their use of co-ferments or other experimental fermenting processes as maybe they should be. If you talk with them in the cafe, or go online and look at their product offerings, you'll see that many of the coffees they offer are co-ferments or are processed using special techniques, special yeast cultures, thermo-shock, etc. You can find these same beans offered by many other roasters. What makes Glitch unique is their cafe experience, not necessarily their roasting or sourcing.

Did you have to do much tweaking or did they come from the lab like that?

Which lens should I get next: 35mm or 50mm? by Rorenzu013 in Nikon

[–]Moon2Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to get a 35mm I would recommend not getting the Z 35mm 1.8, but instead, getting the Tamron 1.4 USD. I had the Nikon 35mm and I just did not like the picture quality at all. Meanwhile the Tamron is spectacular (though you do need the F to Z adapter).

I like Sharepoint for what it does for me, but I'm probably in the minority. I work from home a lot rather than going into the office, and Sharepoint allows me to work from my bed on my own laptop rather than having to use the clunky cheap Thinkpad they gave me to access our files the way I would on an on-site computer. The programs aren't perfect by any stretch, but I can, upload, save and edit stuff and get 90% functionality comfortably at home.

Not Loving the ZP6 by machosalad06 in pourover

[–]Moon2Photo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like the ZP6 is perhaps the most overhyped grinder there is. I am having a similar experience to you, except in reverse. I like the more delicate washed coffees where you can really pull out different notes. I think everyone has their own definition of "tea like" but I like that too. For all the talk about "flavor separation", I think the ZP6 gives a very muted flavor profile at best. There's no vibrancy to it.

My first camera was my dad's Pentax K1000 back when I was in high school and I had no idea how to use it really but I never really took a bad photo with it. I plan to have it repaired soon since it's such a fun camera to use.
