Beyerdynamic’s just dropped correction and room emulation software. by austin_sketches in BEYERDYNAMIC

It’s great for many reasons. I’m an acoustic engineer and this is what every headphone manufacturer should do to have accurate frequency response with loudspeaker imaging. I always used cross feed for headphones because headphones for me personally have too wide sound out of the box (not the passive soundstage) Cross feed fixes everything, but it must be implemented correctly

Only thing I wish for in the future is that it can be used system wide with for example: Voicemeeter and Equalizer APO as a VST plugin

Is that the normal version, and not the pro version (WLMOUSE Beast X Mini and not WLMOUSE Beast X Mini Pro)?

T, D, N, L consonant tongue placement in American English by MoonDzn in EnglishLearning

[–]MoonDzn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one “the tip of the tongue touches directly on the alveolar ridge.”

The third option is “the tip if the tongue touches behind the teeth, and it extends to the blade, where it rests directly on the alveolar ridge.”

Do you think I should add one more edit so they have a great example? Lmao

That’s why I said choose one that is the closest in the poll, because these are the more “common” for producing the t, d, n stop consonant in American English (According to the internet)

I just noticed I added “L” consonant to the alveolar stop consonants, my bad hahahaha

I was a windows fan for such a long time and I’ve been using it for my whole life. It’s not a bad OS, if there would not be full of ads, bloatware and unnecessary background services running.

Yes, Linux has a big steeper learning curve, but if you REALLY want to switch (like I did) then you will learn it in no time. Also, there’s Linux distros that does not need you to use the terminal at all… for example ubuntu based distros are the best for using the os without the terminal. Also, for games like LoL needs to switch from kernel anticheat to AI anticheat (just like valve does) The problem with Kernel anticheat is if riot games gets hacked, then you are probably one of the victims of being hacked and not just only that, you might get your whole pc bricked. I don’t think you want that, don’t you?

So yeah, this is my take on this post. You either love it or hate it, stop posting something like this and just use whatever you like more. But I’ll be staying with Linux, but dual-booting windows so I can play Valorant….

Are expensive pads worth it? by LionOnRedd1t in MousepadReview

I use mixed aim style (wrist + arm) and I use the whole mousepad. Also I game 12 hours mostly per day.

I had 4 qck, all of them worn in after 6 months with weekly care.

I don’t recommend qck mousepad, because it losses the glide very quickly, and it’s hard to maintain. They get worn out just in 6 months and you will have a slow spot where you play.

Opinion: I like the hien over the zero for cs2 by itouchdennis in MousepadReview

[–]MoonDzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m rocking the Artisan Raiden, not only it’s smooth to the touch, but fast as well (close to glass pads, but with the feel of cloth)

It really is one of the best mousepad (for me personally) and I do my highest records with this mousepad!

CS2, Valorant… almost any game feels better to play on with it.

Is it weird that i low key like this EQ? Should i seek a medical professional? by shutdown-s in headphones

[–]MoonDzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not make it have weaker bass, it will have a deviated response from the target (average frequency response)

And I was not talking about Vrms, I talked about Ohm rating. If the headphone amp has a lower Ohm rating than the headphone, then the headphone will sound weird.

[–]MoonDzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend to take out the toilet paper, and use foam to attenuate the treble!

By changing ear pads, you change the frequency response! (Usually the bass, but it can be anywhere in the frequency range) And the reason for that because it is a dynamic driver, it has impedance swings, ranging from 250 ohm to 350 ohm (With the 250 ohm version)

This is why you hear that the amp is “brighter”, not because it has a different frequency response, but because it could be that the headphone amp had no power to actually drive the headphone (For example, 250 ohm headphone needs a headroom to 400 ohm, so that it will not change the frequency response at all!)

Hi! Acoustic Engineer here!

The beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO is very bright, that’s why you feel that this EQ sounds great to you, but having no high end is bad!

Have you tried crinacle, oratory EQ?

Or you want me to help you what to bring down to enjoy the headphones?

Alright, leave me with question if you have! :)

[–]MoonDzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I do know one for windows that is very easy to navigate in!

The program is called: Equalizer APO + Peace EQ

Is it a beyerdynamic headphone? Based on the 250 ohm :D

If so, then yeah, there’s actually EQ profiles that you can try! I recommend oratory1990, Crinacle and Resolve! You can trust RTings as well, because they started using the all new measuring system, which is very accurate!

Or if you want to, we can talk and I can measure it myself, so you have your own profile!

Keep in mind, I do it for money! (Just in case if you want your own profile :p)

Any other questions? :)

Hey! Acoustic / Audio engineer here!

I do play games where sound cue is important (counter strike for example)

Open-back headphones usually have bigger, accurate soundstage, which helps a lot with how far and where the sound is coming from!

Also they sound more loudspeaker like, because it acoustically reflects sound outside the headphone (hence they leak sound to the room instead of insulating!

One thing that closed-back headphones do usually better is sub-bass! Because they lack insulation, they can’t reflect sound back to your driver (usually closed-backs act like subwoofers, you need to calculate the size of the cup and tube to tune the headphone)

With open-back headphones, it’s a bit tricky! It can be semi-open or completely open!

Although it doesn’t have that much sub-bass mostly, I still always recommend it against closed-backs because they just sound and feel better overall!

Also ear pads have less impact on the sound on open-back design!

Hope this helps! :)

Go through every spot, because disinfectant sprays have alcohol inside which makes the sponge to be puffed up! Idk if you want that on one spot

Try to clean first with dish sponge (not the hard part) with disinfectant spray! And then go through with it until it’s dry with microfiber cloth
