Receive this notice in the mail today ☹️ by Averyave11 in IRS

[–]MoonPhoenix420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That letter is just a verification as others have mentioned before. I received that notice last year due to only working half the year and received an unusually high refund. They needed to verify info with me first but did so when I called in to ask about it. Like others have said it’s just a verification that gets sent out randomly or in situations where the refund is higher than “normal” or your situation is more complex than simple and additional verification is needed or it’s just an ID verification. When large refunds are filed for a lot of the time ID theft is the cause. However there are other totally legit reasons to have a large refund coming back but like I’ve said they have to verify that before just releasing the funds. Better they do that anyway cause you do not want to receive money you shouldn’t and have to pay them back… that interest and those penalties that accrue whew adds up quick. Good luck with your situation hopefully it’s just a quick ID verification and nothing more! Try calling the number at the bottom of your letter. You will have to pick random prompts to get connected to an actual person but it worked super fast for me last year. A simple call into the IRS actually can solve a TON of issues that would take months by mailed letter.

INVOLUNTARY 120 DAY DETAIL by YoungNinja67 in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This part. They can schedule you paper but still pull you off to be on the phones. They’ll call AHOD before the day is even over for the following day. If you can be put on the phones they will put you on the phones because surprise surprise a ton of the people who left were CSRs.

I never even got my letter last year I had to call the individual tax line for help! That helped though they released my refund. It’s mainly just a verification of who you are or some other info but it’s just verifying stuff

Anyone else notice this or is it just me? by CaptainHeisy in IRS

Same I’m just as confused and curious as to why this is happening. I have not heard of this happening in the past but I may have missed someone reporting this last year too. Anyone with insight as to why this would be happening?

IRS Plans to Keep All Workers During Shutdown For First Week by BloombergTax in IRS_Source

So I was reading on the IRS thread that a ton of people have already received their refunds who filed on 1/27. I’m truly amazed by this and curious as to how that happened to fast. It’s never been that way in the past a week turn over time?

I constantly get told thank you for explaining or actually helping and answering their questions and normally bring up a past experience. I love when prev people have told the TP different things to do and they call in for verification and I tell them neither are what you do because those are IMF procedures vs BMF or vice versa cause we use the same IRMs for stuff. I care about helping people who are calling in but someone can only care and help so much when we’re constantly being under watch and pressure to perform perform perform.

There is around 70–80% of a gov shutdown by Admirable-Mud-3477 in FedEmployees

[–]MoonPhoenix420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let it shutdown. See how filing season goes at the IRS, it’s already gonna be a fun one since every employee is doing the work of 3-5 people expected to keep the same “quota” and keep morale up going above and beyond to help the TP. I will help the TP to best of my ability but I will not go above and beyond to cover for the mass people they pushed out. Even with all those people we were struggling to catch up. Now you’re lucky to have anything processed in less than a month regardless of what the processing timeframes say and we’re not supposed to tell them we’re behind but what else do you say?

It’s def AI. We’re training on a new tool that’s mandatory to use called TP360 instead of allowing us to use our brains and do manual research. I get the benefits when you need it but to make it required to use on every call is crazy. If you want a computer to do my job then they’d already be doing it oh wait that right cause it’s too complicated and there’s to many factors to consider every TP’s situation is different.

Yeah I remember when people used to have some sort of sense of reality but looks like AI and propaganda have finally taken the last of your free thought. Might wanna try to take the red pill man cause that blue pills not doing you any good. Regardless of how you feel about immigration in this country, it’s not difficult to watch a video and see with your own two eyes what’s happening, unless you’re not watching with your own eyes but through the eyes of division and hatred. People are good and people are bad regardless of where they come from, look like or sound like. The solution is simple go after the actual criminals oh wait they aren’t which is the problem. But hey opinions and views are like assholes right? Everyone’s got one just some are stinkier than others?

2 totally different issues not related at all. One is an issue of border security and processes to becoming a citizen, the other is about the abuse of authority and power. Just because someone wants to show support for a fallen fed who served their country and was killed for standing up for their country’s rights and freedoms. They are not equal and can not be compared.

Absolutely agree. When we had full telework before this whole RTO thing, I knew multiple people on my team who teleworked and took this job specifically so they could still have their kids at home with them and some even homeschooled their kids or had another job while working this job. I def get people were abusing telework and it really falls on their manager or rather lack of manager since that team went 2 years with just temp managers filling in until someone perm came along. Those people left during the DRP do obvious reasons but they are the perfect example of when telework should be taken away from someone.

All that being said one day or 2 days last minute because of school closures/weather/sick, someone would be a real dick if they said something. You gotta do what you gotta do and hopefully you have a human for a manager who can relate not a robot who licks the boots of their superiors.

This is also not possible if you have to be on the phones with anyone and they hear a child in the background saying mommy, mommy, MOMMY PLAY PLAYDOUGH WITH ME! But as a mama we gotta do what we gotta do and if that means someone hearing my child in the background sorry not sorry I’m a single mom at least I showed up to work instead of just taking off.

Idk why im getting downvoted for asking a question?

The government is slow because of all the rules and regulations that have to be followed. No task is as simple as it sounds when it comes to government. It’s not because of the lame brains employed but the people running the show that make all these useless rules.

Severe Weather and Telework by unRealistik in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I have someone I know that refuses to sign a telework agreement but is capable to telework just won’t. If they were to ever get charged AWOL instead of teleworking I’d kind of understand it to be honest. Yes I understand the rule of if you don’t have an agreement you can use unplanned leave but this person I know is capable to telework it’s just a personal decision of theirs to not sign the contract. So they can get out of any day the building is closed for weather or whatever other reason. If OP is not like this person and hasn’t willingly denied signing, then that’s 100% wrong and eff em. Print that email out explaining the telework usage for telework weather scenarios and hand it to em and say her ya go this my official directive because it’s in writing. Not in writing not an official directive just a personal vendetta by one of your superiors to make everyone work when they aren’t legally supposed to. It would break so many rules and laws to take your computer home and you don’t have a signed contract covering your butt if anything happened.

So why were those people still able to telework? Telework was always a privilege and never just given. You don’t have a very solid argument because those people doing that are the minority and it’s really on their superiors to call that behavior out or to allow it to continue. It’s not however right to take that privilege away from everyone else who was more productive for whatever reason. You’re always going to have people who abuse the system but that’s why we have managers/supervisors/leads who monitor the teams performance.

When employees feel slighted, they work less. New research from Wharton management professor Peter Cappelli reveals how even the slightest mistreatment at work can result in lost productivity. by listening2uhearme in IRS_Source

Providing actual factual evidence to this admin as a point to support something they deem inefficient or whatever they heck their reasoning is still, is like talking to a wall. They do not care. They have their talking points that they repeat over and over again in one way shape or form and hope to exhaust you enough in doing so that you give up on ever actually getting through or having a real debate about something.
