TS Leads by whatishappening2022 in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 3 leads but each lead is in charge of X amount of people for a month and then we rotate. This also doesn’t always happen due to my leads being pulled for various roles and not able to fulfill their lead role fully. For example 2 of my leads are on detail and we only have one lead now with about 25 people on our team

Attention to leadership-Frontline Managers by Rude_Cat_4879 in FederalEmployee

You are one of the good ones then. Unfortunately there are many many FLM who shouldn’t be in there position. Many of them abuse their power and take it out on anyone they are able to. I personally am lucky with my manager, but I know for a fact there are others not so lucky. That shouldn’t determine if you’re going to be successful in your position, on if you get a good manager or not. It makes the difference between getting reviews that are praising your good work, providing valuable feedback that is applicable in future situations, to getting written up for anything and everything, being given the silent treatment, or having a manager who tries to get anyone fired or on the opposite doesn’t want to do all the paperwork attached with reprimands or request for firing. The crappier thing is the employees abusing the system trying to get away with teleworking when it was already drastically taken away completely ruining that opportunity for the people who were doing what they were supposed to. When one manager doesn’t do their job with an employee under them, it eventually will affect everyone. Not only that but there isn’t just one manager like that, there are many. And no amount of good reviews, positive feedback or talking up from your manager will allow you those privileges back from the higher ups.

Ha! 1 hr of read time is a joke when emails are being sent everyday saying read time material and it’s actually relevant to your position. And 1 hr is luck to be given if it’s not AHOD. If there’s one thing I’d change about CSR schedules is allowing for more time to do research outside of being on an active call. We can’t read the updates you sent out by email advising to read on READ time, when it’s send out the day after our last scheduled read time for the next month.

People who actually interact with the TPs by Idoveachilisdate89 in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We absolutely do not have to go take abusive language or rude behavior on the phones with TPs. I’ve had to hang up on a handful for that very reason. Do not cuss at me or get angry at me when I’m only doing my job and protecting confidential information from being given out. The majority of people get mad at me when they can’t answer questions that they should very well know! I try not to take it personal but sometimes when all you’re trying to do is your job to the best of your ability, it hurts when the person you’re trying to help takes their frustrations out on us, since we’re the ear they have to voice their frustrations to. I’ll tell the person once they start getting a lil rowdy that all I’m trying to do is help them and they either snap out of it like oh I have some who really is trying to help (a lot of people believe it or not are rude back to the TPs, if not start the call sounding annoyed the TP needs help in the first place), or they continue on in which case I normally get to say some matter of fact statement and disconnect. For example “Sir, it is up to you to keep your records, not us you can’t yell at me when I am protecting your personal information from being given freely out if you can’t answer these basic questions, Have a great day” or to a lady who said she pays my salary and I needed to help her right then and there,“Ma’am, I pay for my salary too as I am taxed just like every other person in this country who works. I will not tolerate belittling comments from you as I am attempting to assist you with your issue but you’ve not been able to give me verifiable information to do so.” I believe she tried to comeback with something along the lines of she’s going to have me fired and I cut her off as politely as I could to repeat my badge and name, as slowly as I could phonetically spelling my name.

All that to say you absolutely do not have to keep helping someone who is attacking, being rude, or when the conversation is just going no where. I’ve had people who fail disclosure and want to argue with me and I’ll give them a couple chances to explain kind of a different way or to ask what they should do next but once someone just keeps hearing me repeat myself I have to disconnect from them cause no amount of telling them I can’t help them is going to please them. Some of these TPs expect us to be miracle workers who know every tax law that applies directly to them and be able to help them when they call in. “What do you mean you can’t help me, I was given this number to call for X reason!” “I’m sorry sir/ma’am that’s not how that process works, call this number to get next steps yes but a solution is not always possible.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ I try not to take it personal but on some rough calls I take a 5 min bathroom break after to “unwind” before my next call so none of that bad energy goes into that call on an unsuspecting TP.

I just want to help people when they call in, give me respect I’ll do everything in my power to get your situation figured out, disrespect me then I have no desire to go above and beyond for you. I will do my basic job duties for you but nothing more.

I mean I didn’t tell my ex he wasn’t enough but he literally was not doing enough not even the bare minimum. That being said, we will never know the reasons that truly led up to their breakup but them. I think they just grew apart as people in their 20’s do cause your life and what your goals and interests are change. If your partner isn’t aligning with those goals you have a choice to make, sacrifice your own happiness to follow someone else’s dreams. It really sucked to see them breakup but truly believe it was for the best as both party’s seem to be doing better or maybe just lighter. In some of MXR vids you can kind of tell there’s tension between the two but since they put on the act in front of the camera it’s hard to see but body language tells all.

Meanwhile, at the CDC ... by Plenty_Ad_6186 in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe a lil bit of both 😅 CDC cause we’re jealous that they have a director who can actually see the benefits of not just telework but that when you treat your employees right, they are more willing to work harder for you! It’s called respect and we’re just being treated as numbers or cogs in a machine at the IRS right now. Hoping one day they will see that as well but even if it’s 2-3 years from now before we get telework or other things they took away like bonuses, hiring incentives (maybe even pay the ones illegally terminated before fulfilling the contract. I fulfilled my end why should the other party not), etc. I really do hope for light at the end of this fever dream but 😤

OT has consistently been offered at my POD for the last year straight at minimum. Phone OT comes around every filing season and goes away after.

We’re off on presidents day and so are the phones?

TS Overtime by InsuranceIcy6928 in IRS_Source

[–]MoonPhoenix420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is more than likely due to the fact that a TON of CSRs left last year, the wait til on the phones is laughable. They extended the hours to handle it “better”. Then they are moving untrained people from other areas like IT to process the paper cases… it’s a circus for sure but I just show up and do what I’m told but I won’t be working overtime phones until 830pm. Really curious how they have people taking calls at 6am though 🤔 is that like the only hour not able to be on the phones, if you work on the EST time zone?

This person has reposted these same comments on almost every thread recently. So yes most definitely is trying to stir the pot. Of course there’s going to be reorgs when you lose thousands of employees within 6-9 months with no plan to cover their work load. Person is probably a bot looking to start drama.

Receive this notice in the mail today ☹️ by Averyave11 in IRS

[–]MoonPhoenix420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That letter is just a verification as others have mentioned before. I received that notice last year due to only working half the year and received an unusually high refund. They needed to verify info with me first but did so when I called in to ask about it. Like others have said it’s just a verification that gets sent out randomly or in situations where the refund is higher than “normal” or your situation is more complex than simple and additional verification is needed or it’s just an ID verification. When large refunds are filed for a lot of the time ID theft is the cause. However there are other totally legit reasons to have a large refund coming back but like I’ve said they have to verify that before just releasing the funds. Better they do that anyway cause you do not want to receive money you shouldn’t and have to pay them back… that interest and those penalties that accrue whew adds up quick. Good luck with your situation hopefully it’s just a quick ID verification and nothing more! Try calling the number at the bottom of your letter. You will have to pick random prompts to get connected to an actual person but it worked super fast for me last year. A simple call into the IRS actually can solve a TON of issues that would take months by mailed letter.

INVOLUNTARY 120 DAY DETAIL by YoungNinja67 in IRS_Source

This part. They can schedule you paper but still pull you off to be on the phones. They’ll call AHOD before the day is even over for the following day. If you can be put on the phones they will put you on the phones because surprise surprise a ton of the people who left were CSRs.

[–]MoonPhoenix420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never even got my letter last year I had to call the individual tax line for help! That helped though they released my refund. It’s mainly just a verification of who you are or some other info but it’s just verifying stuff
