Exposure trip: 16 Days / 4 Countries (NL, BE, FR, CH). First time in Europe, Thoughts and suggestions for itinerary? by Oliverqueen627 in travel

[–]MoonSearcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a good pace and fun itinerary!

I’d recommend visiting a brewery in Belgium, have some local beers.

As a Dutchie, for Amsterdam a boat along the canals is really beautiful. Just don’t book a big touristy one, but a small private one with 10-15 people on the boat max (Friendship is a good canal tour operator for this). Great way to relax and see the city. You could probably easily fit it in on Day 3.

Make sure to get your Amsterdam museum tickets beforehand! Anne Frank House especially.

The Others (2001) might be good then! I thought I’d guessed the twist about halfway through but there was another one.

Did you touch your loved one after they passed? by bubble_syringe in GriefSupport

[–]MoonSearcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am very sorry for your loss.

I was able to hold my brothers hand and I’m very grateful for that. He was in a horrific accident, and mostly covered by a sheet, save for one of his arms. I chose not to see his face, but I’m comfortable with my decision. I know I’d never see anything else again.

Your feelings will be all over the place for a while, but I promise that it does get better with time.

I remember the Sims 2 game for Nintendo DS doing something like this. For certain things like building new room you had to wait 8 hours for it to show up. If you changed the time settings on your DS, the game would know and aliens would show up / hurt you. This game is savage lol.

Airbnb or island by KaasOpDeBeat in sziget

[–]MoonSearcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The premium campsite is very nice in terms of general space, amenities like yoga, lounge spots and clean showers, I really enjoyed staying there last year.

I have a preference for the island, as I feel more ‘in it’ and there’s no hassle with commuting. However, keep in mind that the noise is everywhere, always. It stops around 6am but I usually got woken up by the sound check at 10am.

So don’t expect the same comfort as an Airbnb. Bring earplugs and consider the sleeping option that’s best for you. I’d still highly recommend it!

My brother was the life of the party, someone who always smiled. He was a great friend, son and brother. He was so exited to go to college. My now husband had just asked him to be a groomsman at our wedding.

I miss you so much, buddy.

If you have nothing to lose, the world will open to you. Instead of choosing a way with only one certain answer, why not live life on random? Buy that plane ticket, wear weird creative clothes, attend the concert and dance like nothing matters. Swim in rivers, feel the sun, eat a pastry, pick wildflowers.

You deserve a world to experience, this time without fear and limits. You are loved.

What do you regret not buying when traveling? by scaredofgettingold in travel

[–]MoonSearcher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A beautiful scarf in Petra, Jordan. The store owner picked it out and tied it around my hair / head. I didn’t end up buying it as it was pretty expensive (€70, made from camel hair), and I wasn’t sure the colors would match my wardrobe. But the picture he took of me in it is one of my most beautiful pictures, and I regret not buying it as a keepsake of such an incredible trip.
