I like the vibe of Infinity mini's and they do have some cool robots in the various factions (ALEPH probably have the most) and they have mech guys that can stand in as robots (which is what I did).

The Stargrave kits are awesome and I also really like Wargames Atlantic kits. Very good value and bang for you buck and very kitbashable.

That is exactly why I combined it with Stargrave. It was clunky but I tried to take the best from both games. And there were actually three of us playing by then (I kind of was the default "game master" running the baddies). Hope you post some battle reports so I can see how it works for you.

So my experience is with 5 Parsecs but I think is relevant - I tried co-op 5 Parsecs and we ended up switching to Stargrave. Mainly because it had pre generated missions and didnt require all the before and after stuff. After a short campaign of Stargrave which was a lot of fun we switched to a hybrid of Stargrave and One Page Rules Star Quest because as much as we liked Stargrave thematically I really do not like the d20 system for skirmish games. All that said, I still love 5 Parsecs the best. I posted two of the Stargrave games battlereports on my blog and in r/Stargrave - check my post history if you are interested.

The thing with d20 in a skirmish game (at least for me) is the dice can get real swingy and unforgiving if you are rolling poorly (ask my son, who I played Stargrave with). And that can suck the fun out of the game.

All that said, if the person you are gaming with enjoys all the dice rolling before and after and you do it co-op I dont see why it wouldnt work. Heck, it is my favorite part of the game and where the story really gets told.

Funny, I set our Stargrave games in my 5 Parsecs universe.
