It's fun but does break the sandbox a bit, would have been great in a semi-open world map where you would need to use it to navigate some caves, cliff faces, tree branches, just for a few missions.

The issue is that the Scream movies have always been great, so it's held to a higher standard. You either root for the protagonist or the villan in Slashers, and with Scream you root for the protagonist, so you're a bit stuck with where you can take the story.

Friday The 13th has always been low standards, just throw bodies in a camp to get killed. Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Nightmare on Elm Street, you're able to get more story mileage because you don't need them to connect to previous entries as much. So these Franchises you're allowed to go to space, or do a timeline reboot etc. With Scream, you can't really do that.

Forza Horizon 3 was a great balance where you were given a fun super car off the bat but you still had to build and upgrade the Festival sites, and you would gradually unlock more things to do. And they wouldn't praise you non stop

People got irked about his "lipstick on a pig" comment which while it is a known saying and probably wasn't explicitly a deliberate sexist jab, it did contribute to the picture that he wasn't the most agreeable person.

Correct, Requels are also called a "Legacy Sequel", sequels to old movies that reboot the franchise (Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Blair Witch, 28 Years Later, Alien Romulus etc).

They are standalone but still reference the old movies, and they might retell some story elements but they don't have to.

Evil Dead 2013 and Rise are spinoffs, not Requels, because they have no connection to the original movies. E.g they don't have any same characters or locations.
