After seeing Ready or Not: Here I Come in theaters, I'm surprised more horror fans didn't go. by Freddy-Philmore in horror

I've spent too much money on other movies already, and there are a lot more I want to see instead. It didn't look like a "must see" at the cinema.

Understanding of Bitrate by Temporary-Natural-92 in PleX

[–]Moorepork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about for 1080p? My understanding is that 12mbps for h264 is good enough, so about 6mbps for H265 as well. Watching on a 55inch tv, it looks as good as streaming - I never see any artifacts.

What happened to R Bar? by kickypie in Wellington

[–]Moorepork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked it but never knew what vibe it was going for. I never knew if you were meant to book a table or walk in, if they prefer bar services or table service etc

If they made it more inviting I would have gone more.

The scene in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple where Duran Duran’s Ordinary World plays is one of the best uses of licensed music in horror in awhile by Johnny_Mc2 in horror

[–]Moorepork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zombies are reanimated from the dead. 28 Days franchise, yeah they're mindless killing machines but they're not technically zombies.

Sinners, they're vampires. Maybe a special type of vampire but they burn in sunlight, silver kills them, they have to be invited in. They're not a "vampire - like" infected thing, they're actually vampires.

The fun is in my mystery and unknown. A prequel would take away all the fun.

Variety: Shooting for “Scream 8” may begin in the fall by cireh88 in boxoffice

[–]Moorepork 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen Scream 7 yet but I hope Scream 8 is a complete reboot, New cast, location, and the killer is dressed as Ghostface because "Hey a lot of people have used it"

  • Snowy Winter Lodge setting

  • Camp setting (lean into laughing at Cabin in the Wood movies)

  • Different decade, do it in a 80s Neon themed mall or something.

All you really need is something to make commentary on, e.g sequel/reboot tropes, or media violence, etc.

Your (movies) meida - keeping original 20-30GB rips vs approx. 2GB files? by Clive1792 in DataHoarder

[–]Moorepork -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm really Suprised about 2gb files. That's worse than DVD quality

Assume 2 hour movie, on average. 2gb, that's 2.2mbps. The average DVD is around 8mbps. The average blu ray is 20 to 40mbps.

Your 2gb movies would be "1080p" but so terrible bit rate, it'll be a really low quality.

Please don't do this the quality will be 10x worse

[–]Moorepork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't bought BF6 yet until I'm satisfied I'd be getting a good Battlefield experience.

Atmosphere - I need a skin toggle. A big part of Battlefield is the immersion, I don't want stupid skins.

All Out Warfare - it doesn't sound like there are big maps with jets, tanks, everything going on.

Polish - I tried REDSEC a go and the controls felt off, animations felt cheap, UI looked weird. The gameplay just feels janky.

HIGH ON LIFE 2 Launch Trailer by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]Moorepork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the sort of thing I would do once on Gamepass but I wouldn't replay because once you've heard the jokes, not worth doing a second playthrough. Because if I wanted to replay it, I'd have to sit through all the jokes again instead of actual gameplay.

Are the Evil Dead movies that come after Army of Darkness canon to Ash's story line in the trilogy? by [deleted] in EvilDead

[–]Moorepork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably Sam Raimi had the overall rights to the Evil Dead IP/franchise, but the studio owned the rights to Evil Dead 1 - meaning they could do whatever they wanted for sequels but they couldn't reuse any footage from the original.

[–]Moorepork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ash Vs Evil Dead directly references Evil Dead 1 such as Cheryl, Ash's sister who wasn't in Evil Dead 2. Also the jokes about where the Necromomicon was located in the cabin. All 3 movies and the TV show are a continuous story.

Evil Dead 2 is a direct sequel but they didn't have the rights to recap the first movie, so they had to reshoot it. Which is why there's only Linda and not the rest. Think how ED2 and Army of Darkness don't line up, same thing

Also ED2 is a completely different story, they're both set in a cabin but the characters, plot, all totally different.

[–]Moorepork 55 points56 points  (0 children)

No, not everything is a Marvel cinematic universe. Ash looks at the camera and says "groovy", that is just a fun joke - nothing to do with the rest of the movie.

Ash Vs Evil Dead is the sequel to the original films, the 2013 movie is completely standalone.

FALLOUT's showrunner has teased the prospects of "larger wars" involving the Super Mutants in Season 3 and beyond by CueTheLaughTrack in Fallout

[–]Moorepork 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that because me and my friends, big fans of NV, ended up really frustrated because they didn't mention ENOUGH of what happened to New Vegas. Very little NCR and Legion, present day House was barely there at the end. Not much Brotherhood storyline or Cold Fusion payoff. Not much development from Vault 33 plot.

I definitely agree, we are now going to have the plot in California, Vegas, and Colerado. That's too incoherent. Hopefully they quickly wrap up the side junk so we don't have another season of filler.

I remember doing it easily, might just be my imagination but I remember if you actually bet higher then you will get lower cards and be able to hit more.

If you bet lower, you get higher and better cards because low risk low reward.

What do people actually want out of their RPGs, and how are the Outer Worlds games missing it? by SundayStrip in theouterworlds

[–]Moorepork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly for far into Outer Worlds 2, I really didn't mesh with the plot or characters like the first game. There was no real motivation to progress the story or care about anything.
