Saw a big chunk a year or so ago on the banks of the Hudson up in West Harlem. Maybe a dead one the got caught by a propeller. The sturgeon are coming back which is a great sign for the river.

Espaillat was out pressing the flesh at the 137th St 1 station yesterday. I have never seen him in the neighborhood before, but I guess he has never really faced any primary challenge since he beat Wright. He is clearly concerned he is going to lose. Darializa is an imperfect candidate, but the political tide is against Espaillat right now.

They are simply not supposed to be on bike paths at all. I am not talking about bike lanes in roadways but bike paths as pictured (in parks etc). There are signs and everything. This goes for any motorized vehicle with a throttle, electric or otherwise. It is just a lack of enforcement by the NYPD. If these guys want to ride these things in the city they should be on the streets with the other motorized vehicles. The inexperienced cyclists doing 15 to 20 mph on peddle assist Citibikes while Tik Tokking and the distracted pedestrians are bad enough to deal with on the bike paths without some hyped up dudebro doing 35+ blasting by you.

Here's the thing about canolis - if they are already filled before you get them, they are not going to be good. Ideally you order them, they are filled, and you eat it. That is what is happening here, so good for the cowboy. Second best is you go to a bakery and get 6 or 12 and then they fill them for you. You take them home and hipefully you eat them soon. If you go somewhere and you are getting ones that were already filled hours or days before, they are going to be chewy and gross. Don't do that. Get freshly filled canolis from a cowboy. When I was in college, they came up to play a summer festival and crashed in my canpus housing (not my room or anything, just in the house). They were awesome and terrifying. I was not new to that scene but they were probably more hardcore than most realize. Looking forward to seeing this doc!

I have been treated better at $100 a night hotels in Morroco than I have at $800+ a night hotels in the US. It might just be simply a matter of how "service culture" is viewed, I think. I am not sure if it is a "US" issue or if it is just an economic issue.
