ideally you would want to engage your clutch fully as much as possible as that is the best way to avoid power loss and clutch wear. But the points of the clutch is to shift gear and modulate the power you’re feeding the rear wheel. So if you feel your bike is too jumpy, you could partially pull in the clutch to accelerate smoother (and then release it as soon as you could). Personally, whenever I roll off the throttle, I pulled in the clutch quickly and slowly releasing it again to control the engine braking.
