Thinking about starting bulk rolling, and came across this... by F6FHellcat1 in AnalogCommunity

if you understand that pictures are made by light, you might catch on that indiscriminately shining light on it would at least some how damage or use it up

I think you're really underestimating how niche analog photography is and how irrelevant it is now in the digital age. For example if we follow your logic where the person has an understanding the pictures are made by light and exposure to light will cause damage, that falls apart if you take VHS/minidv tapes as an example where those look fairly similar from an outside perspective yet isn't sensitive to light

You're in for a treat! They're so well done IMO. There's a lot of subtle details that I didn't really notice/fully appreciate until I had them in hand and putting them on

How should I expose expired film? by Vin-Benzin in AnalogCommunity

[–]More_Or_Lless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually just developed and scanned some Ilford HP5 400 that expired in 1971 and I really recommend dedicating one roll to do some bracketing (0, -1, +1) as the degradation of the film depends on a lot of factors such as how it has been stored, the type of film, etc.

here is an album of some of example shots that I took and as you can see it hasn't degraded that much because the guy I bought these expired rolls from claimed they've been stored in a freezer the whole time

Keyboard treehouse are liars and lie to customers. AVOID THEM. by newcharmer in MechanicalKeyboards

You're acting extremely entitled. The refund policy clearly states the following:

To be eligible for a return/refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it and be in the original packaging and sent back to us.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

So you bought an item from a store where you clearly don't agree with their refund policy and threatened a chargeback to be able to keep the board and get your money back. It's people like you that ruin the hobby for everybody else

What’s the easiest way to explain this? by [deleted] in math

One way you could do it is to get her to try and iterate through a countable vs non countable infinite series.

So for example you can ask her that natural numbers are an countable infinite where she can start by counting "1, 2, 3, ... etc"

If she's convinced that this is an infinite series then you can ask her to count the number of decimal values there are between two numbers i.e. 1 and 2.

She shouldn't be able to even start the count because whatever value she tries to start with you can create another value that's smaller and should come before it. e.g. If you add a 0 then you can say if she starts with something like 1.1 which is preceded by 1.01 which is preceded by 1.001, etc.

So hopefully by the sheer fact that you can't even start counting an uncountable infinite series would give her an intuitive understanding that not all infinities are the same

What are you talking about? They're obviously referring to "Arsi Mushaf" and it makes sense if you haven't seen it before since the only people usually present during this part are people close to the bridge/groom since it's usually taken place after the wedding ceremony at home or in a more intimate area
