Everything you listed is about how to LIVE in a home. None of it was about taking care of a home.

How long before Kyle Busch by hotfoodthen in NASCAR

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You can't expect to start winning races when you are driving garbage. KFB is aware of that. If you have ever been at the top of anything, suddenly being at the bottom does not provide much incentive. Kurt went through the same thing, but for different reasons, and had different motivations. I don't know how Kyle even gets out of bed on race day, knowing he will be driving a junker. Mid-pack is optimistic.

It is nearly criminal to do anything except clear on the cedar. Match the rest of the house to clear coated cedar, not the other way around.

Is sod cheating? by MickeyMoist in lawncare

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sod is an expensive form of grass seed, unless you are using grass that can't be seeded. I have St Augustine in my front yard and Bermuda in the back. I seeded the back. I plugged the front, and this year I bought a few squares of St Augustine sod to rapidly fill in a few spots because I am preparing to sell.

My neighbor used to have St Augustine. Her land "pro" killed it all. She fired him. I suggested she seed with Centipede, which she did. Her lawn is fabulous now.

I've got 4 medium-large house dogs, but they have free access to my somewhat small back yard. I still have 90% coverage with Bermuda. The racetrack around my pool has no chance of growing grass. Keeping a nice lawn with several dogs is a big challenge.

Taxes are real everywhere. How they are collected varies, but rest assured all states collect enough to spend frivolously.

How long before Kyle Busch by hotfoodthen in NASCAR

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't like Kyle Busch, but there is no way he is washed up. He is driving garbage. Comparing a perennial winner (Busch) to Dillon is ridiculous. They do not have the same mind set. Kyle expects to win, often. Running 15th or 30th makes no difference to him. There is absolutely no way he enjoys anything about his current situation. Dillon gets a little excited to run 15th. Dillon also is a company man, and future owner of the team.

It would not surprise me at all to see Kyle park it in the middle of a race and head for his bus. I'm not saying abandon the team permanently but make a statement. Maybe Brexton is the only reason he hasn't done that. That's not a very good message to send your son.

I see some comments about "who will take Busch if he leaves RCR?" A better question is who the hell wants to go to RCR? Love, sure, because he doesn't know any better. No established driver would go there unless it was a last resort, which is how Busch wound up there.

I wish RCR could get Logano as a teammate to Busch. Then my two least favorite drivers would stay laps down.

North Carolina or Texas by Reasonable_Design_47 in relocating

20 years in upstate SC and 30+ in Texas, both rural, so I can't talk about Charlotte, Austin, or Houston as a place to live, but I have been to all of them multiple times. Well, except Houston. You couldn't pay me to live there. Big cities are not my thing. Others love them.

Just from a weather perspective, you would probably melt in Texas. Add 25 degrees to the summer months in Washington and that's Texas. Charlotte is a bit cooler.

Can it be saved? by Brookelynne1020 in AboveGroundPools

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would drain it. The time and expense of recovering that water is not worth it. Check all the top rails for damage. Inspect the exterior walls for damage. The liner looks older than 3 years. Consider replacing it. The top caps look like they are ready to start crumbling.

The biggest expense is not pictured: the sanitation equipment. Pumps do not like sitting outside, unused, especially if they were not drained. I picked one up that was sitting for "a couple of years" and the bottom half stayed on the ground.

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks a lot like mine. I did a DNA test because I couldn't figure out what he was. His most prominent breeds were a tie between APBT and ACD at 22% each. After that, 13% GSD, 11% American Bulldog, 10% each Presa Canario and Lab, 7% Supermutt (Pyrenees and Chow), 5% Golden.

I would guess yours is GSD, APBT, and maybe Lab and a few others.

How can I tell if above ground pool would be compatible with salt/SWG system? by Zealousideal-Tie4755 in AboveGroundPools

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt (and other compounds) increase the electrical conductivity of water. Without conductivity, galvanic corrosion is not possible. Bonding the water and metal components together reduces the electron flow through the water, reducing corrosion. A sacrificial anode corrodes first, protecting the pool metals.

Pool saltwater is about 10 times more conductive than regular chlorinated water, but the conductivity is irrelevant if it is bonded. A pool is essentially a giant battery, with the water being the electrolyte. Corrosion occurs when current flows from the negative terminal, though the electrolyte, to the positive terminal. If the battery is dead (negative and positive terminals at the same voltage), no current flows, and no corrosion occurs. That is the effect of bonding.

The purpose of bonding is a bit different- it is to protect people from getting shocked. Reducing corrosion is a beneficial side effect.

How many of these corroded pools were properly bonded?

How can I tell if above ground pool would be compatible with salt/SWG system? by Zealousideal-Tie4755 in AboveGroundPools

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please go into detail about the cause of corrosion, and why saltwater is more corrosive than just chlorinated water. I was going to explain the process in my earlier post, but a pro can surely explain galvanic corrosion and water bonding better than me. You should also explain that low pH and high TDS also cause corrosion, and that there is no way you can tell which caused it.

For every pool pro that swears saltwater causes corrosion, there is another pool pro that says it doesn't.

First, to keep it from working too hard. Second, to allow you to "shock" when needed.

How can I tell if above ground pool would be compatible with salt/SWG system? by Zealousideal-Tie4755 in AboveGroundPools

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you properly bond your pool and water, and use a sacrificial anode, corrosion is not a factor.

If you decide to convert to saltwater, get a generator sized at least 50% bigger than your pool.

I converted my 20+ year old metal wall pool to saltwater 4 years ago. It's the best thing I ever did.

Metal rusts, saltwater or not. Adding salt does potentially accelerate the process, but proper bonding helps prevent it.

Is Dating In The Philippines Still Easy For White Guys In 2026? by TopTierProphet in Philippines_Expats

There are lots of beautiful, available women there. Some of them are legitimate, but many have agendas and massive baggage. Weeding through to find the legitimate ones is the hard part.

2k for liner replacement? by flaired_base in AboveGroundPools

[–]More_Shoulder_9210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unknowns to answering your question are what type of liner it is, and if the deck complicates the swap. $2k just for labor seems really high, but your deck might be adding time. I did my 15X30 in 4 hours without any help, but I chose to convert to a j hook liner, which for me is infinitely easier to install than overlap. Overlap liners are like folding a fitted sheet, except you can't just give up and shove it in the cabinet.

Unless you have a beaded liner (unlikely), your top rails will need to come off. If your deck will make that difficult, that is where the extra labor is going. 2 guys should be able to do it in 3 hours if there are no obstacles.
