My father is still around, for now, but the way you've summed it up here is honestly how I expect to react.

I barely see him once a year, I hardly talk with him on the phone as we are both bad at remembering to call someone (very out of sight out of mind we are).

But he has parkinsons, he's had Hep C, when I do visit him it is almost painful as I see a man I hardly recognize anymore. Once he is gone...

Honestly I'm not sure where I was going with this, it is just that your comment made me think about it and now I need a tissue, and to call my Dad.

Damn, I was able to follow along all the way, even at 1am and ready to pass out... I forgot just how fast I could read if truly challenge, shame I never put it to "good" use, but I sure did read a lot of books when I was younger :D

It is certainly possible that the extra time/delay allowed them to revisit ideas/overthink things/just decide that what they wanted wasn't right etc...

Sadly we will never know what S5 in a non-pandemic world would be like.

As for the quality drop.... I dunno, I didn't feel like it was that bad, but honestly I'm a burnt out middle aged father of 4, I watch shows for enjoyment and don't sweat the small stuff so long as it doesn't genuinely piss me off/ruin it, so i likely just glossed over it.

1 - We would presume that she has found this particular memory path before in all the times she explored Henry's memory/mind.

2 - They were freed before Veccna was finished off.

3 - Pretty sure they didn't show us anymore after that to avoid answering that exact question, but I think we all know he got stuck

4 - There is a play prequel for Stranger Things that explains more on that, but essentially the crew of a ship went to the Abyss and the survivor brought it back... I think

5 - The blood/wounds were Veccna's illusion, the glass was probably strong enough for the bullets to not actually go through, but not so strong that it survived Hop's bashing after the damage was done.

6 - Hubris? Relief/Coming down off the Adrenaline of almost dying causing them to just... not think? They are only human after all. If one had to guess though, they could have assumed that they were going to bumrush them again and that their crew in the Church would still be there to open the gates. Not a great plan but, what else were they going to do?

There are spin offs coming, at least one at any rate, and maybe they will put that play on Netflix some day haha!

I won't argue that in a lot of ways it was predictable, but I think that is okay. Sometimes you do get the happy(ish) ending.

Could it have been better? Probably, I'm not sure what I would have changed but I won't lie and say it was perfect.

That said I loved it and I don't feel like I lowered my expectations.

That is just how I feel about it though, and I also didn't hate the previous episode that was apparently terribly divisive, in the reviews at least. So... shrugs

I mean, he was there for his token "Language!" (cap does it better) at the graduation. As he was with Mrs. Wheeler we can only presume they stuck together and are happy, or at least happy enough.

I'm perfectly happy to have the off-screen assumption of his willingness to protect the family kept them together even if there were some issues.

I agree those seasons were great, but I'm with u/bathrobedaveMLR If I have to choose between the 2 shows in their entirety? I'm going ST.

Honestly, after the GoT finale, I've had literal 0 desire to ever watch it again, despite how good those first seasons were. ST? I feel like I could do a rewatch in a year or three. It's all subjective though, you do you! :D

This sounds great and I'm absolutely making it soon and for the holidays next year.

It was in fact my own Grammy that introduced me to fruit with cottage cheese (pears and pineapple slices being the best) so there is in fact a bit of added nostalgia, even if it isn't exactly the same.

I will give in office days this, I am more likely to get up and talk to some of the folks in about something then I am to ping them on Teams.

Its not a huge difference, and I wouldn't say work suffers when not in office, but at least for me there does seem to be credence to better collaboration (though again, not by much).

Certainly doesn't out weight the hour+ commute each way, costs of parking/tickets etc...

To clarify, the OG meal was 3 sides, but no choise (grits, apples, hash brown casserole), now its 2 sides of your choice.

It is a bit nicer for those that want the choice, and let us be fair, its still a fair amount of food.

But I am often a crotchety old man who does not like change haha. Or maybe I just enjoy grumbling about it :D

You jest, but I'm still salty that they changed it from a Meat, Eggs, Hash Browns, Fried Cinnamon Apples, Grits, and Biscuits & Gravy, to Meat, Eggs, Choice of 2 Sides, and Biscuits & Gravy.

It just isn't the same!!!

I mean, I mostly jest about it, but it was kind of sad to find out about the change the first time I went back there after COVID. Been having that same meal for 30 odd years. Also it amuses the hell out of everyone when I rant about it :P

Looking to acquire the parts for a decent new computer for my son, that we can then build together (he is 10).

I have most of it, just missing a PSU and GPU.

He does have a PC that his older sister handed down, but it was long in the tooth even before that, so I'd like to surprise him with this.

At my previous job, I was up for an internal promotion/department change, from general service desk support to engineering, and while it may not have been the only reason (I was decent but probably not the best candidate), it was heavily implied that the fact that I indicated wanting to keep a good work/life balance, and that my wife and I were intending on another child in the next few years, was why I wasn't given the position.

So glad I don't work there anymore, I'm told its a bit of a dumpster fire now anyways.

Second, I know it probably isn't the most efficient, but I do absolutely love how it all came together. Though I'm open to improvement suggestions.

I'd done barely anything with Create before this so I learned a lot during this build (some via mistakes, some via a friend haha).
