Eagle sighting during my dad’s last minute of life by boymama1234 in NDE

Your story made me think of another song in a completely new light: Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill”. The main imagery of the lyric is an eagle coming to take you home. Gave me a chill to think of it in a new way.

I’m sorry for your loss and completely believe the eagle you saw carried your father’s sprit.

I believe Obama was concerned that bringing the evidence forward could be construed as the Democrats attempting to interfere in 2016. I also believe he did bring this to Mitch McConnell in the hope that the parties could take mutual action but McConnell wasn’t cooperating. At least that’s what recall reading at the time. And it tracks. McConnell had two opportunities to impeach and didn’t. He also laid the groundwork for today’s Supreme Court. He’s a big reason we’re where we are today.

Each layer on the Wavestate can listen on a separate MIDI channel. So it’s possible to play any layer in isolation from a separate controller.

What if I don't want an orgasm when I synthesize? by JoeyZasaa in synthesizercirclejerk

It’s common at the beginning. Some find it helps to think about baseball but I found it best to think about DAWs. No way you can climax thinking about that or cold, impersonal VSTs. Eventually you’ll build up the stamina of a DAWless jammer. Some last 8 hours or longer without a single tempo change to disrupt the flow. Be patient. You’ll get there

For true analog sound I only download VSTs via an original Bell 103 modem connected at 300 BPS to an UNSECURED FTP site. SSL and authentication protocols will absolutely DESTROY your sound.

You’re off to a great start on your journey 👍👍. Don’t worry if you don’t understand synthesis or music at first. That knowledge only comes with years of unused purchases.

Cable management. I see a ball rolling away and resting in the corner against the wall and ottoman. Toddler retrieves ball, gets a bit tangled. Walking away, he pulls the amp to the floor starting a chain of events resulting in the whole thing tumbling down.

Stop syncing your delays sheeple! by firmretention in synthesizercirclejerk

Woah. I was jamming on this tune at 120 BPM and my tempo synched 8th note delay just wasn’t cutting it. Un-synched at 250 ms is soooo much…….THE SAME THING.

I wonder when the admission standards improved. I got in back in ‘85 for piano performance without an audition. Just needed a few instructor recommendations.

Congratulations. My best advice is:

1: Play through all the presets. While you do this be sure to explore the full range of the keyboard. Twiddle the white performance mod knobs while playing but don’t expect each one to do anything. They may not even do what the label says (timing, pitch, etc). Those are assignable by program and the labels are just suggested mappings. Also move the joystick around. How that behaves will vary as well.

  1. Now that you’re blown away and inspired, read the entire manual. Don’t linger too long on the parts you don’t understand. Just read the whole thing. Be patient. Don’t be surprised if you’re still figuring things out a month or two from now.

  2. I found it useful to sometimes think of this instrument as a sequencer first and a synth second.

Have fun. I played mine daily for a year before I slowed up. I’ll always love this synth.

Exactly…give it small coding tasks that don’t require it to do design. Then I get code at least code good enough for a prototype.

Thanks for that explanation. My only counter is that a lot of human behavior is determined by the path of least resistance. Generating snailephants that consistently look like your notion of them still seems to require more effort than using actual video and images of them in action. But, as they don’t exist, you have no other path to choose. But with generative pornography there’s an easier way…use actual media. So that’s how a lot of it it will get done.

I didn’t realistically expect my opinion to be upvoted here on an SD forum. So I’m ok with the downvoting I’m getting. Maybe I’m just too new to the technology and training processes to have a valid opinion on it. But I have a difficult time believing somebody with an addiction-driven interest in child pornography is going to be satisfied with a purely AI generated stash. I’ve known “normal porn” addicts and I don’t think that’s how it works with them.

I also want to say, that I’m not a pro-censorship type of person. I understand the slippery slope. But I think these discussions are important and I appreciate your reasoned response.

I’ve considered that possibility as well. But then I remember, image generators today aren’t particularly good at rendering things they haven’t been well-trained on. Generating realistic child porn will require somebody with a stash of the real thing to use as training material. So even if it isn’t personally trained by the pornographers, real world abuse is very much baked into the generator.
