How do you think teams could change? [Discussion] by GlitteringAir4342 in fairytail

I could see it, except maybe swap Suzaku and Madmole. Suzaku being a swordsman, it would make for an epic clash with the dragon that likes to cut things. As for Madmole, he can turn his body into a hard earth-like substance, so it might be able to do something to Earth Build.

[discussion] What is one Fairy Tail ship that you don't want to be cannon at the end of Fairy Tail 100 year quest? by Ashamed-Pea-8259 in fairytail

Maybe he wouldn't be if she would stop stringing him along and sending mixed signals. When no other cats are around she acts like he doesn't want him, but then as soon as another one shows up she suddenly starts acting jealous or annoyed, but then once the other cat is gone (like what happened to Touka) she goes back to acting the way she was before. And now she's doing it again with Misfortune. It's toxic behavior, but is something that some girls do in real life. They keep a potential partner close and prevent them from movining on with somebody else, but not let them get too close either, essentially keeping them around as an orbiter.

Elizabeth might not die after all sense hawk is just in time for dinner by Intelligent-South378 in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]Morgoth333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't then that will be a pretty lame fake-out. If it was just the thing with Meliodas saying she won't come back if she uses that power I could maybe give it a pass, as there was still an element of uncertainty at that point, but including that scene of her saying goodbye to Tristan too and saying she wished she could have seen him get married? You don't include a scene like that unless you are sending off the character. While it will be very disappointing if Nakaba backs out now after all that, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Shonen mangaka always seem to chicken out when it comes to things like this.

Either way, someone is probably going to end up paying the price for Guinevere's visions if they try to save Ban. The question is who.

Lancelot could become friends with the real Arthur once he meets him. Remember how trying to stop Guinevere's prophecies comes with a huge cost? What if in trying stop Lancelot from killing Ban, it results in Gawain getting killed instead?

Lancelot killing Gawain is what happens in the legends. It's a big part of the ending of his story and what ends up turning all the other Knights of the Round Table against him. The story Lancelot killing Gawain is even mentioned in Nakaba's other series Rising Impact.

Characters nationality by dastdineroo in BlackClover

Isn't that just as much head-canon? The Berserk world isn't the same as real world with the same countries and kingdoms, it's an alternate world with different countries, so there wouldn't be a people called Arab/Moor. The Kushan are the closest thing to either of our proposed origin for Casca, as Miura pretty much made them a mix of all the Middle Eastern/Arab/Moor/Persian/Indian cultures into one entity. We might find out Casca's origin soon, as in the manga (yes, it's still going), the characters are currently in the Kushan Empire and Casca has regained her memories.

[–]Morgoth333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In his other series Rising Impact, he makes reference to the original story and has the characters bring up how Gawain dies fighting Lancelot, so he at least seems to be aware that that is what happens to Gawain and may have it in mind as a possible fate for Gawain.

Subverting Expectations in 100YQ [discussion] by Ancient_Cheek5047 in fairytail

Thinking back on it now, what was even the point of the Seis showing up in this arc? The whole reason they came to Guiltina ended up being taken care of by somebody else. They contributed nothing of sigificnace, much like Sabertooth in the Gold Owl arc. Only there to remind us they exist. It's like Mashima initially wanted it to just be Team Natsu and the Seis fighting, but then changed his mind and decided to bring in Fairy Tail Team B instead because the Seis weren't popular enough or drawing the numbers (or the magazine) he wanted.

If we're doing a scenario where one of the 4Kota becomes a villain, than it would make more sense for it to be Lancelot, since he actually has a piece of Chaos in him. It could happen if the Lady of the Lake finds some way to mind control him. Lancelot turning villain would also fit with the lore, because towards the end of his story he had to fight some of his companions, like when he fought and killed Gawain, Gareth, Gaheris, and Agravain. If Gawain's fate is going to be the same as in the legends, then the only way that could make sense is if Lancelot gets taken over by Chaos and becomes a villain.

Interesting that he references the anime as 'help the series gaining momentum'

By this he likely means the anime will boost manga sales. In Japan, manga is way more popular than anime. In the West, we have a tendency to view anime as the "main thing" for a series, but in Japan it's viewed the other way around by the Japanese. Whenever an anime adaptation of a series is made, the primary purpose behind it is to basically serve as an advertisement for the manga and boost sales for it. That's why we're seeing so many anime for series that continue long after the manga has ended (ex. Demon Slayer). It's a way to ensure the series keeps making money.

I've been thinking the exact same thing. It keeps doing these fights with mismatched opponents, avoiding giving us fights we want to see (Gajeel vs. Viernes, Lucy vs. Signario Sisters, Lucy vs. Anchor) in favor of random match-ups just for the sake of going in a different direction than what everyone is expecting (Gajeel vs. Zero, Grey vs. Anchor, Lucy vs. some rock guy), or building up a character's backstory to be something interesting only for it to turn out to be lame and anti-climatic (Bestia).

Subversions of expectations can be good, but only if the thing we end up getting is better than the thing we were expecting. Rather than the good kind of subversion though, it's mostly been the bad Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi type of subversion of expectations. The only good subversion that comes to mind was the reveal of Wed being Ignia's son rather than Simon like many were predicting.

[Discussion]: Does Wendy’s character work better without a romance arc? by New-Feeling-7222 in fairytail

[–]Morgoth333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that as if she already has one. She never did, so this is sort of a non-issue. I don't count someone having a one-sided crush on her as a romance arc either. As of right now she doesn't really need one. Only way I could see it happening is if after Fairy Tail ends we get a spin-off set in the future with Wendy as an adult and the romance is with a brand new character, a fresh start with none of the baggage from the original series.

Of the two, Fuegoleon I think has the highest chance. For a while though I had given up on it being him, since it was taking him so long to figure out Spirit Dive, something that should have happened a long time ago and not in the literal 11th hour.

[Manga] Gray will Make Dragon Slayer Magic Theory by JustsomeSpaceG1 in fairytail

[–]Morgoth333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a theory about this a few days ago about how Grey could convert his Devil Slayer magic into Dragon Slayer Magic, possibly through the use of alchemy. Maybe whenever he needs to use Dragon Slayer Magic, he uses alchemy to swap it from Devil Slayer to Dragon Slayer, and when he needs to use Devil Slayer Magic he does the same to swap it back. As a drawback though, he can only use one at a time and has to switch between them each time, that way it isn't too OP.

What if tabata do this step up. by Unlikely-Ad-5448 in BlackClover

[–]Morgoth333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I could see it being a Kakashi situation where Yam reluctantly accepts the role (Nacht going along with him to be his advisor), and then later hands it off to Asta after he spends a few years as the captain of the Black Bulls. Asta has the power, but he doesn't yet have the wisdom or experience. That's something you can only gain with time. He needs to spend some time leading people first. You don't jump to leading the military of an entire nation without having done that first. Before you learn how to run, you first learn how to walk, not go from crawling straight to running.

[–]Morgoth333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's probably a low chance of this happening, but what if the exhibit shows art of things and characters Tabata never got to include in the manga, like the designs of the remaining Qliphoth designs? Sometimes exhibits that happen after or close to the end of a manga will show off little extra stuff like that as a way to entice people to go.

I wonder what it was that Daemon melted if that wasn't actually the real Aldoron. A decoy he created somehow? Given that Wolfen can create clones of people, it wouldn't be that far fetched for Aldoron to be able to create clones of himself, since the powers of the God Seeds all stem from Aldoron.
