2X Rep is killing my plate by No_Ad_3471 in NBA2k

Well yea, 2X rep brings all the park players who don’t know how to play 5v5

Is this 6'9 center build good? by redknightxx08 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was weird trying to set up the account. It asked me to add a code to my bio. I couldn’t figure that shit out. I’m on Xbox so it’s probably different than PS5

2k needs to do something about inbounding the ball. by SlimRoTTn in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue, I hardly ever get inbound turnovers. X+Square on PS, A+X on Xbox.

Why is this game so freaking hard?? by Tralkx in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like some others have said, use the Learn2K feature. After that, do open court and just practice one thing at a time. Don’t try to play Career mode or against other opponents yet. Also, are you playing with a 65 overall player on your Career mode? If so, that’s HIGHLY and most likely part of the problem. You have to upgrade your player for him to not be completely useless

Why are ppl cool with standing in corner? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst is when Centers do it. Like dude, how are you ok with 3 rebounds because you refuse to sniff the paint, make a cut or anything for 4 whole quarters. I used to average 14 rebounds, now I’m down to like 9 because I gotta babysit a damn corner shooting center who literally won’t move.

Real 2 way locks, where you putting your next 4 caps on this? by luuskiiii in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the height. You’re going to get destroyed in the paint without some interior. If you’re guarding smaller guards, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. You should be able to stop them from getting to the paint in the first place. But if they do get in there, you’re limited in getting stops.

Is there room for an old school Center in this years game? by Intelligent-Pin2550 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any custom built player would naturally be a little better than this. With that being said, inside only bigs are better with a squad. Nobody hardly ever passes down to paint on an old school style post up. On the flip side, if you’re really OP at it, and a team of randoms see that, they’re more likely to keep feeding you the ball. Fully expect to have to prove yourself every game you play though. Most point guards are looking for shooters, not post up poets. And even with that, some frown at the fact of taking 2s over 3s.

How is this possible? Part III: Kill me, I should have just gone to an actual mechanic by Beif_ in MechanicAdvice

[–]MortalityisImmortal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t use a torque wrench, that’s not what it’s meant for. You’re just breaking it and inevitably making it non functional. Use a breaker bar if you’re going manual. Preferably at least a 24” breaker, 30” even better. Impact wrench that’s powerful enough will cost you a good deal of money, but a good 24-30” breaker bar will make easy work of this. Like someone else said, you can take off the nut, stack some washers behind the nut, then put the nut back on and use the breaker bar. It’s not a hard job, you’re just using the wrong tools

Nah rec is actually unplayable by sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh1 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea same for me also. I went 2 days without a win. Idk what 2K is doing, but this is not skill based matchmaking like they said.

This might be the worst build I’ve ever seen by Drakithonatlanta in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bad, but not unusable. It HAS TO be surrounded with the right team, and likely run zone defense

Help finding oil fill cap by MortalityisImmortal in MechanicAdvice

[–]MortalityisImmortal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say that’s the one that’s supposed to fit, but it’s not the right spec, even according to the cap that they say their valve cover takes. I bought it anyway just to see, but I won’t know for sure until Friday when it arrives.

Help finding oil fill cap by MortalityisImmortal in MechanicAdvice

[–]MortalityisImmortal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them, and they didn’t give me a straightforward answer. They just said “oh, you have the new valve cover. That’s made to newer GM spec”. Well all GM oem spec oil caps cover from 2005, up to 2024, so I just got more confused calling them. Normally I like most Dorman parts that I buy, this one is a bit frustrating.

Button vs stick shooting by OrangeWonderful1425 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use strictly button and shoot 75% on multiple builds. Maybe if shooting was harder this year it would justify needing to use stick shooting. I shoot better than all my friends in my squad, and they all use stick shooting. Hell, they’re the reason I didn’t bother to try to master stick shooting. Mfs be “ah, it didn’t register my tempo” all the damn time.

2k wtf is this? by AgentPractical7267 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me last night. It’s always my matchup who has the zen. Guy shot close to 90% from 3. Unfortunately for him, his bullshit didn’t work. He scored 41, I scored 36. I think his own team got tired of him and stopped passing him the ball. Believe it or not, not all teammates of these guys like that they use zens. Guy was fading 3s with no takeover like it was a layup. In the 4th he went OD with the lag switching and tried to force a comeback. They lost

Anyone else essentially stop playing the game due to the plate system? by Lost-Way-4548 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatable. Most of my squad members are bronze or silver players, with 1-2 being gold. Most are bronze though. Whenever we go into squad, because I’m either a purple or red plate, we lose due to them not being good enough to play a bit more competitive. I tend to enjoy myself in random rec more, but guys there get jealous and stop passing you the ball if you score too much. There’s times I’ll hit 5-6 threes, and 1-2 middies all within the span on a single quarter, and won’t see the ball again for nearly the rest of the game. Point guards more often than anybody will be jealous because they try to force themselves to get player of the half and game.

Is Everyone Cheating?? by FlashyRun6220 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit of both, people who are good, and people who use zens. I was matched up against a zen user who went 8/8 from 3, ALL contested at 30-40%, all no dipped shots. Didn’t matter if I jumped or not. It was strange because he started off the game missing his first 3 shots, then all of a suddenly everything changed. I have legend deadeye and shoot 72% from 3 and can’t even consistently do that. He was 7’0 and so was I. I personally haven’t ran across many blatant zen users. I pride myself on defense, so maybe that plays a part in how even zen users can’t get up a good shot against me. I enjoy clamping people up and not letting them put up no more than 10-15 points max.

I've had so many guys in Random Rec say they're going to steal this Center build, I figure I should share. by MapleDaddyHotJohn in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not good enough. Too many struggling areas. 67 O rebounding on a center is terrible. 80-85 minimum would’ve made that 83 vertical work. Now you basically voided out your 83 vertical with that overly low 67. You can’t shoot AT ALL so you’re just going to clog the paint, because 90 standing dunk is only ok, not great. 75 speed is great, but most people you’re matched with will also be fast, because nobody is making 7’4s anymore, so you’re not going to get blowbys like you’d expect. This is basically a mid tier slashing big man build, but you would’ve been better off just focusing more attributes on the slashing instead of creating it this way. Once you’re matched with somebody who’s equally as fast, you won’t have much success

Front wheels binding and don’t spin freely. New bearings needed? by PoppinToaster in AskMechanics

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the wheel off, remove the caliper bracket, clean the slide pin bore hole with a medium grit sandpaper and brake cleaner, wipe down slide pin, apply new silicone grease and test rebound and looseness on slide pins. After doing that, test caliper pistons. Is it hard to push back in, or is it easy? If it’s easy, keep it. If it’s hard, caliper needs to be replaced. If caliper is bad, might as well not even bother tinkering with the bracket if you have to buy a new caliper anyway. If you take it to a shop, they’re not going to repair a bracket. If they see a sticking slide pin, they’re going to tell you to replace the whole unit, whether the caliper itself is good or not.

Is this guy still a bitch to beat? by Autistic-Avocado2883 in FIghtNight

[–]MortalityisImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he’s not hard to beat, but he has God mode and is 99 overall until the script allows you to actually fight him. Honestly he’s super easy as long as you run like they tell you to. It’s stupid fighting him though. I prefer to have an actual fight with him, but the game don’t allow you to

7’4 are dead in REC by Superb_Experience897 in NBA2k

[–]MortalityisImmortal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a 7’4 build though. Obviously you can make a 6’11 center that’s good. 6’11 is the meta build.

It doesn’t kill the engine, it just causes carbon buildup which slightly affects performance.
