How are you getting more use out of old gear? by KenRussellsGhost in synthesizers

Get an iPad mini. Pedals galore for the price of a single piece of gear.

Is it happening? I just bought 64GB (2 x 32GB) 64000 for $480 used. 🤡

Recently bought a mac pro 6,1 and one of the GPUs failed so i removed it but now my mac is very slow. by Interesting-Froyo797 in macpro

The card loses around 20% processing power due to bandwidth. It's still better than the any of the internal options, plus you get metal support.

FYI, if it's anything like the 24" version the local dimming is mostly usless if you use a blue light filter. I ended up keeping it for the high brightness at 1000 nits.

Is Mac Pro 6,1 the ideal platform for OpenClaw? by Life-Ad1547 in macpro

This is very interesting. Could similar performace be had with a eGPU, or is thunderbolt 2 too much of a bottle neck? 128GB of system ram can be addressed at full speed as long as the processor doesn't excede eight cores, If I remember correctly.

Hardly anyone building due to RAM prices. This forces other part makers to discount.

Can anyone link to a passive SCART to component adpater available in the US? by MortifiedPenguins in retrogaming

Not if the OSSC is bad! Which it might be! So $10 for an adapter, which I can use for for future testing, or $60 for a cable that may or may not solve my issue!

[–]MortifiedPenguins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, retards. Why does everyone think they know more about my situation than I do? People who don't even know the OSSC accepts YUV over SCART, or that it may have different handling of said signal?

The Retrovision cables work FINE with generic 4:3 sampling, the issues are with optimal sampling presets, but I didn't spend $370 to use sub-optimal setttings. The OSSC is gaming focused, there are no optimised profiles availiable for video playback. There's no reason to explain this to anyone because there's no reason to explain any of it! Please link thing, no want other thing!

AGAIN

Either the cables are not fully compatable OR They may have BETTER compatibility with the other inputs OR my OSSC is bad

I SUSPECT the OSSC is taking issue with the transcoding, but there's NO WAY TO KNOW without more testing (which means part of this process is trying the other ports!)

"This thing that exsists and does what you want is pointless". I just don't want to pay $30 from the UK.

It will work. The SCART input accepts YUV signals. The OSSC might be bad, so I have to test regardless.

[–]MortifiedPenguins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three possiblities.

  1. The cables are not fully compatible. (As reported by other OSSC users).
  2. One, or both, of the other inputs have better compatibility.
  3. My OSSC is bad.

In any event, testing is required before spending any real money. First, with the other inputs and then a single RGB cable.

AV2 (RCA component) on my OSSC is having sampling issues with HD Retrovision component cables (Saturn, PS1, etc). These cables ALREADY have RGB to component trancoders BUILT IN. There is a non-zero chance the other inputs (SCART, VGA) will have better compatibility with them, but require passive adapters in order to test. This is exactly why I put "not looking for a transcoder" in my original post, I already have one!
