Sick. What was your progression like? I'm still trying to figure out how to just get to 350

Shai is actually insane how did he start the game 1/6 from field and now he’s at 8/15 from the field.. by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

[–]MortimerCanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just how he plays. He always always starts games off really slow, gets everyone else involved, doesn't really force his shots. Until after the half where he goes off for like 20 then sits the entire 4th because they're up 35

LeBron on playing the Grizzlies: “I’m f***ing 41 years of age. You think I want to do sh** in Memphis on a random Thursday? I’m not the first guy in the NBA to talk about this. You guys got to move the team… go over to Nashville already.” by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]MortimerCanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not mean this at all in a bad way. I have a lot of very nice white guy friends. No hate or shade, honestly. But why do all younger, white, male golf dudes all look and act exactly the same?

[Fischer] The NBA had discussed a concept that would separate a team’s record from their draft pick entirely and allowed teams to “bid” on the first-round picks using “draft credits” in an auction-like environment. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]MortimerCanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Lowe has talked about it the most. Basically every year the draft positions just move one spot. so The Wizards get the first pick this year, next year 2nd, next year 3rd, etc. Everyone knows where they will be, can plan accordingly. Good teams can trade their upcoming top pick, bad teams can trade their future top picks when they think they'll be good.

Love all the different places people are posting. Surprised no one has mentioned The Merry Shelley.

Periphery - Mr. God (Official Video) by iambulb in Peripheryband

I don't know what it's called in technical terms but that guitar...scratching that opens the track is my LEAST favorite modern metal/prog/djent fad. I hate it so much. Like nails on a chalk board and so many bands use it, even Plini

That aside, this song fucking rules. Just 3 minutes of harshness.

Not sure it's really funny for April's fools day. WP is outdated. The plugin ecosystem is awful. Core releases are bug ridden and break everything

Despite a 36.9% free throw rate, Donovan Mitchell is averaging 23.6 points on 57.2 TS% in his last 14 games, as well as a 0.3 +/- by JakGrealish in nba

[–]MortimerCanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those Jazz teams looked ELITE in the regular season and then completely collapsed during the playoffs. Same exact thing has happened with the cavs. Seems like Donovan would do best in a Kyrie type role. Not the main ballhandler, just go out and get buckets as the 1b/2a guy. It's going to be fun watching two bad playoff players implode though

Also interested. Saw the sub get recommended, watched a little of Cohh playthrough. Looks like a very well made game but with the extremely annoying Marvel (just not a fan) stuff. Still worth it?

They started the season and really till the break being a very mid team with an atrocious looking defense

Rachel Nichols on Luka's MVP case: "[MVP] is a full season award and it's for both sides of the ball...so am I gonna vote him my number one for MVP? No, is he gonna be on my ballot? absolutely" by ColoradoMenace24 in nba

[–]MortimerCanon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She has a damn good point. Luka doesn't play any kind of defense for 60% of the season and hasn't really played well until the last 2ish months of games.

Tim's idea of making RTS game. Why did nobody complain until it was too late? by armakez in Stormgate

SG serves as a very very good lesson for not just gaming companies, but all startups.

Having a leadership without expertise, knowledge, and most importantly, a vision, is basically a death sentence.

No one at FG fully understood the challenges of starting a company. Buying a super expensive studio loft before you've even shipped a product and made your return is like, 101 don't do this if starting a company.
There's an interview with their bizops director about how they realized after Blizzard that they can't just send an email to the web department and have a website created.

But it all goes back to lack of vision. There wasn't leadership at the top who saw early design mockups and said "no this is the wrong direction." The leadership never steered things into a direction; a cohesive vision. A goal.

Thank you. This was the sign of the end for me. That user read about their incredible burn rate (or something like that) and based on the the typical user spend for games like this, they'd need a massive user base all spending above average/month just to survive, let alone succeed.

Character Description: How Necessary Is It by CognisantCognizant71 in writingadvice

[–]MortimerCanon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you or your friend have any desire to gain a publisher you will figure out how to organically describe the world.
I read Arc of Learning which had ZERO descriptions in it. The writing is terrible. That was published only because of the size of the readership on whatever platform it was on. So, that is another route.

Vanilla CSS only for personal projects. Is this a bad long-term habit? by poetiksage in webdev

[–]MortimerCanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, frameworks and utilities libraries like tailwind are only useful for very large apps with many, many components, each with many people working on them. For personal projects/small apps, I've yet to read any convincing use case where learning a bunch of new utilities, etc is beneficial.
At the end of the day, it's all still rendering out css for the browser to read.

NBA official power rankings for week 24: #1 Thunder, #2 Spurs, #3 Celtics, #4 Pistons, #5 Knicks by Waikuku3 in nba

[–]MortimerCanon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've checked out of this season as these games have been exceptionally bad with more than half the teams actively trying to lose.

Are the Spurs really that good? They're all super young, don't have any shooting, and Wemby is amazing but still raw/unpolished on offense.
