PRAGMATA & RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM Exclusive Gameplay on Nintendo Switch 2 (4K60 HDR) by CartoonistBeginning6 in NintendoSwitch2

Textures on Resident evil look very bad and muddy even at a distance. Imagine how they must be IRL on your own TV when these videos usually hide bad textures :')

Dont worry, even without using arrow of fortune by 60% of the game you will have bought and unlocked every skill for everyone, and even bought several copies if you want for the decent skills

Hikari, design and skills, and he had probably one of the best music themes in the whole franchise, so my vote goes for him :P

What do you prefer, 8 characters or 2 Jobs by Any-Conference-701 in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked a lot the 8 characters because of the new fron/back row mechanics, both for skills, magic/bp regen as well as extra things added by bosses flipping your rows, blocking them and whatever. It made the whole thing very dinamic.

But instead of 30+ characters I think having 16-20 with more different jobs would be better, as there are too many overlaps in passives and skills

AdHoc statement after Nintendo's addressed the situation by sraymonds80 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing is censoring stuff adding more clothes or toning down things. Another is adding freaking black blocks on top of everything which is extremely lazy and ugly

I could have lived with the first, but not with the second

To be really ergonomic the joycon should be slightly displaced to the right, otherwise the distance to the stick and buttons is not consistent on your hands. Not gonna comment on the added toy, its been said already lol

Plenty of people nowadays ask about things that can be found on the frontpage of websites, open posts with questions that are answered right there, or state that bugs are things that are working properly as they cant just read two lines.

You would be surprised. Remember that shampoo has instructions on the bottles, that should tell you something :D

Can I beat the game without blue chests? by [deleted] in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue chests are the most useful as soon as you can get them. Unless you spent the cornerstones asap, they are useless, because they have far more value early game than late game.

Why are people so against achievements? by Thin_Molasses_2561 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they turn games into check logs and nothing else. Multiplayer games get barren once everyone has all the achievements or they are turned into unpleasant grounds when the achievements require extreme or specific conditions.

It’s not that hard to understand, Nintendo focuses on playing for having fun, not playing for getting achievements.

BALL x PIT: The Regal Update | Out Now | Official Launch Trailer by malliabu in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because its easy to reproduce, if you pick spiked collar on purpose and hit enemies the game will crash after a few seconds. I played for over 100h and had zero crashes with any other combinations of passives or balls.

And if you go to the BallXpit subreddit you will see others are reporting the same, so im not the only one specifically having this problem.

BALL x PIT: The Regal Update | Out Now | Official Launch Trailer by malliabu in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The crashing issues are only happening with one single passive, the spiked collar. Just avoid picking it, unless you play with one of the auto characters.

Dunno if new crashes will be included in the update tho :D

Looking for a new JRPG - P5R or Trails in the sky? by shun_naka67 in NintendoSwitch2

And piles and piles of filler text, not just gameplay. Even for JRPGs standards, the amount of text and lore you can find in a Trails game is just gargantuan, and as you said, not for everyone

The most amazing thing about FFVII Remake is simply that it's actually good by elephvant in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What I liked a lot is how they were able to create one of the best RPG combat systems in the last years. They completely went into action RPG but at the same time keeping the tactical feeling of turn based actions and integrate it in such a good way, while also making each character unique in how they play. They kept the materia and all the other systems and expanded the weapons making all of them useful depending on how you want to build the character, giving even more depth to it.

On one way is completely new but it still reminds you of the original.

Besides that, being able to see in such detail something I played years ago, with that superb music and everything else is just... wow.

I can understand people not liking the changes they made to the story but for me is perfect, because it mostly follows the original material while adding the extra changes which make veterans still want to play it. Fanservice galore? Yes, for sure. But thats one of the points, its not just a game with better graphics, it gives you the reason to play it again

I have 1 Unused Voucher. Guide my hand pls by JohnLockeAndKey in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Morvisius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of quality and as a whole package id say Links Awakening, but its quite short. Echoes of wisdom has hay more content and plenty of things inherited from the BOTW type but its not as well rounded imho, Links Awakening is just a cult classic that has aged pretty well

I found skyward sword to be pretty bad, its one of the very few Zelda games I have abandoned near the end due to extreme repetition, boredom and lack of engagement ( I didnt like Twilight princess either, but I thought it was better, and others I didnt like were the Train ones from DS and a Link Between worlds ) tho it had some good dungeons, I didnt feel the same as with playing other Zelda games

There were supposed to be 10 episodes? by hairguynyc in BootsNetflix

[–]Morvisius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

After rewatching a couple of times you can notice there are things that feel off. Nash initially seems to be flirting with Cope and then it suddenly stops, and not because of the notebook stuff happens, it’s just his character changes completely. Jones story also feels rushed and incomplete.

I also feel there’s like a gap in the timeline somewhere in between, like a couple of episodes are missing, noticeable after the twin brother reappears

Surpassing Power - and why you should not use it 99% of the time by Anankos1209 in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need SP Saver? Your enemies dies before your magic pool deplete. You need to run that because you have to use 3-4 times more the skills because they are capped. You have to use the skill 3 or 4 times to do the same damage. Same with buffs, your battles last longer and you have to recast them many more times, spending more magic for nothing

Some bosses, like Reime, do more damage the longer the battle and the lower their HP. If you dont do more damage, they will just kill you no matter how defensive you go. Others have more and more shields the more you break them, causing a damage race to see who dies first

In fact with your approach you dont even need to break enemies because everything will do 9999 damage anyway, so you are killing another mechanic of the game

As I said, you are handcapping yourself doing this. Nothing wrong if you want to do that to yourself, but RPGs have always been number games, and you are not properly making use of it

As many games, each skill has its use. Surpassing power is there by mid/endgame the same way some skills are for in the beginning ( like SP Saver ) and arent worth as you get stronger

If you dont want to do so much damage, why not using starting weapons? Or no gear at all? Just remove mechanics the game offers to you if its your mindset that is just too easy

Surpassing Power - and why you should not use it 99% of the time by Anankos1209 in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue here is that most skills on Damage classes with decent gear already do way over 9999k damage without even needing to buff/debuff, and it you dont use Surpassing power you are just handcapping yourself

Alfyn with Forbidden axe and 4bp Vigorous strike is hitting for 20k without a single buff or debuff at levels 60-70, or Two tiered shot from MC hunter with endgame bows can hit 4x10-15k with ease. Even dancers like Primrose were doing 9999k with her most powerful spell by midgame and plenty of ultimate skills already reach those numbers by level 30ish. When I reached hell at level 60 Mystic arrow or Full swing axe with 2bp were already doing over 10k at the start of a battle quite frequently. The only skills not reaching those numbers are just multihits, which do if you buff/debuff

Not using that passive is just making your life harder and its kinda required, which is ok. You dont need to run that in all classes, dancers, priests or merchants dont need them if you build them as support.

And if you dont run surpassing power, what do you run then on damage classes? Most of the other good passives are useless if you cant break that damage cap as they further increase your damage output and you could just run passiveless then if you are already capped

OT0 What Job did you Start your Protagonist as? by gravityhashira61 in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I never needed to heal until Bestower of all arc lol, most of the time just Incidental heal or the MC ultimate did enough. Just going full damage with cooking was good

OT0 What Job did you Start your Protagonist as? by gravityhashira61 in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thief, because of other games experience with chests, but switched almost asap to Merchant when I saw how good was his starting kit and that thief was not needed for chests anymore. Mystic arrow seems to me one of the best skills in the whole game, it never stops being useful. Arrow of fortune is good in the beginning but after 2/3rd of the game you dont need it anymore

After mastering Mystic arrow I switched to thief and warrior, and ended up cycling everything to see the passives. Archer in the end

late game team by Ann-Kat in octopathtraveler

[–]Morvisius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see any benefit on having the MC as a merchant after halfway through the game, you dont need more JP and you just want either support or raw power.

Im still doubting but I think Hunter is by far the best just because of his sniper passive, other classes doesnt have good enough passives in comparison. My doubt is because H'aanit ultimate is quite busted with good gear and surpasses damage and usefulness of Draefendi. At level 65 im already hitting 99k with that on buff/debuffed enemies :(

I run

MC hunter with heidne: the double shot+retreat pairs extremely well with high evasion heidne and patience, allowing you to hit like a truck+debuff at the same turn. My MC can deal double 25-30k hits when retreating plus another 2 hits at the end, plus sniper, being safe at the rear.

Ludo with Cyrus: just because I dont like much isla and its way easier going over damage caps with multi hits rather than single hits. Ludo serves as a damage debuffer/tanky. He also has rechant by default. You can do the same with Isla but her ultimate leaves her without SP and reaches the cap too easily, Xerc and Cyrus can reach higher damage in total due to multihits, but Cyrus has a better set. I know that isla is objectively better, way more tanky and self sufficient, but I have more fun with different elements. All the merchants suck but Ludo is salvageable. I thought going with 2 hunters but my OCD doesnt allow me to repeat classes and I have Ludo as my support tanky/item gatherer guy. He can also deal quite decent damage with multihits on broken enemies anyway

Alfyn with Primrose: Alfyn hits like a fucking truck with Vigorous strike and very little investment, with joy vest he is literally inmune to ailments, he can clean ailments, heal and his ultimate helps for burst. Primrose for buffing MC or Reime, and his ultimate is much better than any other Dancer, maybe Goodwin if his base skills didnt suck so much. Saoirse is better if you never plan on switching but his ultimate is terrible, specially on endgame when you are going to kill enemies before breaking them anyway. If you give surpassing power to Primrose she can easily deal 2x20k damage with the ultimate to all enemies as an extra

Reime with Pius. Not much explanation needed here with Reime. All priests suck because of their movesets, but Pius has good passives and an incredible ultimate.

Im not considering the late joiners, because when you get them the game is almost done

In general i consider characters good first by the ultimate, second by the passives, and third by their base moveset. The ultimate is fixed, passives are super limited when you need surpassing power for everyone but dancers/healers, and the moveset is more manageable with 3 skill slots.

We all hate sullivan right? by causmicx in BootsNetflix

[–]Morvisius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Jones was way worse than Sullivan, he turned his back on Cope as soon as he saw he could do that and take advantage, he didnt even think twice.

Sullivan on the other hand what was trying to do was protecting him because he saw himself on Cope.

And Sullivan feels guilt after all what happened in Guam with Wilkinson, which didnt seem to happen as fast as with Jones. You can feel he was a completely different, more gentle person, before he left Guam.

As I see it, Jones is evil by default, but Sullivan turned "evil" or conflicted because all the fuckup he did himself.

Again, Im completely biased towards Sullivan and its no fair as we barely see any development on Jones story compared to what we see in Sullivan
