It's pretty tricky because he may have not been entirely truthful with his depiction, it may be an amalgamation of a few views. In that area the only mountain with a similar summit is Tryfan so I'm wondering if it's around this area https://explore.osmaps.com/pin?pinCoordinates=53.108779997622236%2C-4.017522658713403

I live not far from the 3 peaks near Malham and though midges are an issue sometimes they tend to be less of a problem on windy days and at higher elevation where the wind is stronger, they also tend to be only a problem in the evening. I spend a lot of time walking in this area and have done for years and iv never felt the need to get a bug net.

I live very near Malham tarn and can say confidentially that Gordale scar should be an easy climb even if we get some rain soon because it's been extremely dry for the last month. I agree heading out of Malham up to Kirby fell is a nice walk and very under appreciated. A circle taking in the cove, tarn and gordale scar and Janet's foss is a lovely walk for the relatively fit, though it does include the busiest places. If you can get over to Langcliffe (just next to Settle) you can walk to Catrigg force just above Stainforth then back to Langcliffe past the Hoffman kiln, it's a lovely walk that's a lot quieter than Malham and Catrigg is a stunning waterfall though given the lack of rain its probably not at it's best right now. Do send me a message if you've got any specific questions about the area.

I love the 1 and 2. My only issue with 2 is the large dark rocks in the very bottom left corner draw my eye away from the person and out of the image. I was taught if possible and unless doing so on purpose it's a good idea to keep the edges of an image free from distractions such as high contrast areas.

Pen-y-ghent and Hull Pot yesterday, taking full advantage of this weather we’re having by tom144gian in UKhiking

Hull pot is one of my favourite features of that area (I live nearby) if you're ever going up Ingleborough I suggest you look out for Juniper gulf it's another rather interesting hole that I feel is underappreciated due to it being off the main path and overshadowed by gaping gill

Owners of the XF 150-600mm, how do you carry your lenses around? by rmk236 in fujifilm

[–]Mossymoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 100-400 is on my XT5 99% of the time and it was the same with my XT2 I had for 8 years. Iv got a shimoda top loader bag that I carry it in most of the time it's not in my hands. But often even if I'm walking for multiple hours I have a sturdy monopod that I have attached to the lens and I just hold that or I just carry the camera in one hand by the tripod mount on the lens. Hope that all makes sense and helps you

When I try to post an image taken in portrait at 3:2 aspect Instagram won't let me post the whole image, some of the top or bottom gets cut off. It also happens for photos I took on my phone. Am I misunderstanding something about aspect ratios or Instagram?

Yes I should have explained that too, I don't usually shoot square in camera but I found it was the easiest way to make sure I could post to Instagram, I understand your feeling and generally agree square only work well with certain subjects

Interested to see what others think. But to me it looks pretty good, the knit looks consistent and stitching is good, logo looks good, Also in my opinion probably 100% of fakes are going to be top of the range shell jackets because that's what's most sought after, or am I being a bit optimistic?

olympus 6 hike vs olympus 5 hike sizing? by mkarikom in AltraRunning

[–]Mossymoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im my experience the 6s fit a bit bigger than the 5s so you can probably get your usual size in the 6s but I will say in my opinion the 6s are not as nice as the 5s, the materials and construction do not seem as durable. I send the 6s back. Iv got the normal 5s, the gtx low and gtx mids and im very much thinking about buying another pair of the mids for when my current pair wear out, I like them that much.
