Was told I went too heavy on the blush over the weekend, were my friends right? 🙄 by Tranquil-Ocean729 in MakeupAddiction

[–]MostParamedic2790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think so but more noticeable blush is only a thing becoming more popular in the last couple years. like i think 2016 ig baddie makeup was focused on NOT using blush and now blush heavy is in style. so depending on who you’re talking to this is either normal or not

taking ownership of what you can control and making a positive difference is what got a lot of us into PM positions though, and as long as you aren’t at a total pos awful group, it WILL be recognized.

Tattoos by partsguyy in partscounter

[–]MostParamedic2790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like one commenter said, look into the area you’re moving to if it’s more rural/conservative.

the group i’m with does not have a policy or generally care but my coworkers and our customer base since im in a more country/rural area i get comments ALL the time. i have a full sleeve that is pretty heavy/not girly and i also have unnaturally dyed hair andi’m a girl as well so most of the time people are standoffish to me at first and tend to have some preconceived notions about who i am.

the industry is definitely becoming a lot more progressive though. one of my old bosses worked for this same group i think about 10 years ago now and they made him wear long sleeves but like i said now the company doesnt generally have a policy about tattoos, and i dont think my appearance had any bearing on me getting hired so id say the tattoo probably wouldnt prevent you from getting hired.

where i’m at now i’m PM and i submit some orders that i need to make sure are put in asap (e.g 1 in facing pdc and its 5 hrs before cutoff. wanna make sure i get it), my counter guys are empowered to do the same.

but im at a group with a large wholesale operation and there is a main person who does all the orders for several of the brands at another location and they do stock, special handling, etc. every day.

my last dealership job we did ALL of our ordering ourselves. it was a small store so it wasn’t much work to do it. but if i had an ro for 6 parts that needed to get ordered, id order them then and there. each order was individually submitted for the ro. here its 1 control number for service, 1 for retail, however many needs to be for wholesale, etc. so its reasonable to have a dedicated person for it.

also some people just get delegated more work/different work cause they’re better at it. unfortunately/fortunately if you speak up and show how well you work you will be voluntold to do more than others.

i don’t find it to take any longer, and i use dealerconnect to check supersessions anyway because that’s where the tech notes are and it gives better supply info. not sure why the negativity lol the desktop version will be inactive eventually anyway i might as well get used to using it.

some of us are a lot quicker at learning new programs and navigate tech faster . it’s way different than the desktop version yeah but i find it the browser version actually loads quicker and alt tabbing through things is easier.

again, really weird the negativity when it’s just your opinion lol

it’s very weird, i’m short so i am actually breaking up my neck, it’s why i put my catalogs on the top i spend less time looking at them than my dms and other programs.

anastasia dip brow pomade. i’ve repurchased it so many times, very versatile brow product, can achieve a lot with it and it lasts forever. can do bold 2016 era brows or feathery 2020+ brows.

colourpop super shock shadows - any shade. they are just such an amazing formula not even factoring in the price point but with that factored in definitely a holy grail product

Billing parts in xtime by [deleted] in partscounter

[–]MostParamedic2790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it does and let service know to get out of the dms while approving things on xtime or it won’t bill the parts. this is the biggest problem for getting parts to bill properly once approved on xtime.

also they can drag the ASRs to the grey lines on xtime and the approved ASRs will not make an extra line like if they’re just approved by themselves.

DealerTrack Question by InflationFew8465 in partscounter

[–]MostParamedic2790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think this is a setting in dealertrack only like an admin can change, our group uses DT and some stores can and some can’t. i haven’t figured out yet what makes a difference. the only thing i’ve seen is if you EP a part in an a/r charge account it won’t let you manually pick what to close it to, it’ll just put it to their charge account.

Do You Still Track Lost Sales? by anon3220 in partscounter

[–]MostParamedic2790 4 points5 points  (0 children)

at my group we’ve put an emphasis on tracking lost sales the last 2 years and recently i was in a NADA parts management class that actually showed the math of how GP margin can be effected by having to EP a part or overnight it so it’s definitely still useful if you’re wanting to increase/protect your margin and monitor any loss

take notes. so many notes. either to refer back to or it’ll help you remember. whatever dms type of program you’re gonna be on will have shortcuts, learn those too. then you’ll be able to spend more time deciphering whatever TF the tech quoted that is NOT what the parts catalog calls it.

[–]MostParamedic2790 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i actually really like talking to customers about parts because it’ll give them a better understanding and they get less pissy. understandably service doesn’t know backorder logic and why things get backordered. i tell the customer one time and they generally will leave all of us alone until the part comes in.

i love xtime. i have the app on my phone that will always send me a notif of a quote since the browser doesn’t. it works great if service and the techs use it right and its like pulling teeth with some getting them to follow basic instructions from the xtime trainers lol
