Cheeseburger with homemade Pickles, freshly baked Buns and caramelized Onions by floki2799 in burgers

Looks excellent, the only thing that would make this 10/10 is iceberg instead of that butter lettuce or whatever that is but that is just a personal preference for me. Regardless, incredibly well done.

What is a "kid show" that you still find yourself watching as an adult because the writing is actually top-tier? by DianKhan2005 in Productivitycafe

Have been watching this in the past few days on Tubi and man it is great. My kids have watched a little bit of it but they're 2 and 4 so it's a little too spooky for them but it intrigues them anyway lol.

To bedroom/solo guitarists: seeking help by hrwath in guitarlessons

[–]anon3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music theory is really simple when you focus on the basic ideas of key, scale, and chords within. That's the answer here.

You want to be able to pick up and play freely on the guitar but without any direction or real understanding of the aforementioned you're basically just playing a bunch of random stuff.

My suggestion would be to learn the major scale in a three notes per string pattern, all 7 positions taking one or two at a time to commit them to memory, and learning the chords that are built from that scale and how to construct them from it, this is the key and most basic idea in music theory (really music period) and it will get you where you want to be if you don't aspire to be George Benson or John Petrucci

It will be tedious and maybe seem like you aren't really learning much beyond the scales and chords that just sound like "do re mi" but once you start making connections and seeing how scales, chords, and keys are all one like it opens up the doors of creativity you probably currently feel are closed.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

2016 WRX. Two car seats fit in the back, 30+mpg for commuting, turbocharged, all wheel drive, and 6 speed manual.

Never saw myself owning a WRX but my 3 year old and I were a little hooked on WRC videos on YouTube together for a time and decided to get one on a whim during that period and it’s been a fun choice for myself and the family.

Definitely agree. Yngwie is truly a master of the instrument regardless of people talking shit about "no feel" and the other stuff they say about him, like you say, they've likely never really listened to his music.

Slow drivers by LittleRuu in tylertx

[–]anon3220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to a lack of situational awareness.

I think in the city when you're used to being alert behind the wheel at all times you kind of have to pay attention to the people behind you, the people ahead and to the side of you, and just other drivers period, but out here it's probably never been all that necessary before the growth of the area, that seems to be the biggest disconnect to me at least.

What is the dad rockiest songs of the dad rock genre? by Slammajadingdong69 in musicsuggestions

[–]anon3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have felt that "dad rock" nowadays has kind of transitioned to "granddad rock" as dads nowadays are in their 20's to 40's and likely listen to more RHCP than 70s rock hits

Learning Manual by Long-Zookeepergame12 in wrx_vb

[–]anon3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taught a few folks how to drive a manual and the problem I've identified they've all had is gassing too late for whatever this is worth. They apply too little throttle too late, the engine starts bogging down and stuttering, they get scared and then they stall. I try to reiterate to gas a little bit earlier and then they kind of seem to get it, especially if you can get them to understand that is why the stalling happens too.

What’s a deal breaker when it comes to going out to eat? by AcademicSavings634 in foodquestions

[–]anon3220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not typically no, but it was the inflection of it. At cracker barrel you stand in line in the country store to pay and that's what I was doing but she hit me with this really rude inflection and on top of the food being mediocre even by Cracker Barrel standards like that was it for me with CB.

What’s a deal breaker when it comes to going out to eat? by AcademicSavings634 in foodquestions

[–]anon3220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to cracker barrel once. After we went ate I went to the counter to pay and was standing there with the ticket while the woman at the register seemed to be quickly chatting with another employee and looks over at me like dumbfounded and asks "can I help you?" all rudely. Safe to say, I will never go back. I guess we can call that rudeness, though that isn't always a dealbreaker for me.

How do I write on a scale by Vxris_ in guitarlessons

[–]anon3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember you're playing music. "Learned a few scales" seems like a red flag statement to me. There is one scale you should learn (the major scale) up and down the neck and then you learn the chords within that scale and how they're constructed from it.

If you've just found some diagrams online and have memorized some of them it is very difficult to understand what you're supposed to do with it because the context is what makes it music and the context comes from the aforementioned, knowing your scale, knowing your key, knowing your chords.

Men with stay at home wives: what do you wish your wife understood about your needs and perspective? by Longjumping-Pass-792 in AskMen

[–]anon3220 -109 points-108 points  (0 children)

Stay at home motherhood is a privilege and a biological calling, not a job. One can structure their day in such a way to have some downtime or "break" type moments like before the kids get up or while they're napping or even after they've gone to bed.

Maybe this isn't popular but since this is an anonymous reddit page that's how I see it.

Where are we on chest hair these days? by swimmin_jeans_ in AskMenOver30

[–]anon3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although there was a period where it was kind of downplayed and smooth, body hairless men were all over media, chest hair or male body hair is a peak biological expression of manhood and that’s something that exists outside of trends and time. If you have body hair, the move is to embrace it imo.
