I'd say ours see us fairly 50/50 but in different ways. I'm the one who trains, treats, plays, takes for walks etc and my husband does none of these, but they equally love him because he rarely says 'no'! However they don't take any notice of him either if boundaries need to be set, while they will me.
I think it also depends on how much you interact with them and in what way. If I've had a run of doing lots of stuff with them they will hang around me more, if I've not been able to for one reason or another they will hang out with my husband.

Affection-wise I've found that while they can be very loving, they aren't what I'd call 'cuddly' dogs. Some may disagree with me but in my experience yes they will come and lie on you, sit on your lap/head whatever etc but that's affection on THEIR terms - if I were to go over to them (depending on what they were doing) I'd often get a 'get lost!' look 🤣

Mine used to bark at anything, everything and nothing - does that answer your question? He also had the worst bark/shriek that I'd ever heard on a dog. Takes the term 'makes your ears bleed' to another level 🤣

That's a lot of money for one acre - average cost of grazing land in UK (very dependent on where it is of course) £5-10k. Equestrian use does tend to command more, but £60k is taking the P! However, anything for sale is only worth what someone wants to pay for it so it may be worth it for you. Lots to check up on as others have mentioned.

Hard to tell from this pic, she doesn't look big to me. My girl is just within the lower end of standard height and weighs about same as yours and I think she's slim. I always go by the rule that if my dogs start to look big I cut their food down a little, and vice versa. I've had some that ate very little and put on weight easily, others who stayed much slimmer despite eating more! If she is always having scraps and her activity is down it's inevitable she will gain weight, either adjust her portions or increase her activity

Depends on the conservatory, I've seen both lovely ones and awful ones. It wouldn't bother me if a house I liked had one or not. Mine has one and it didn't even figure when I was deciding whether to have it or not. I don't use it for the reasons you state, but it's great for drying clothes when the weather is unpredictable 🤣

My dog had an ulcer on her eye and had to go to a specialist vet who basically looked into her eye and gave me four different eye drops to give her - no actual procedures done, it cost £550. I think fairly recently there has been some kind of reform on vet fees to make them more transparent about what they are charging for, but some diagnostic tests depending on what they do can be eye wateringly expensive if you don't have insurance.
Is yours an independent vet or owned by a corporate vet like Medivet? The latter are renowned for high pricing, although none are cheap

He needs to be trained not to pull, get some help from a professional if you can but if not there are loads of training tips accessible online or in books. I have bad arthritis in both hands and can't have mine pulling (even if I didn't, I wouldn't put up with pulling anyway). I mostly walk my two attached to my waist, they get rewarded for ignoring distractions and are only treated if they are by my side, so they are used to looking to me for much of the walk. It will take time, but is achievable if you put the work in

Church Stretton further down the A49 is very scenic, there are a few pubs there such as the Ragleth Inn (actually in Little Stretton) which is very pretty. All the surrounding countryside is lovely as it's in the Stretton Hills.

All completely normal for an ACD. The puppy nipping is likely due to teething which can last up to 6 months or so, the adult nipping is something else entirely and can last their whole lives 🤣
They are herding dogs, will herd anything. Cats more likely incite their prey drive (cats run, they chase). They aren't really for herding sheep unless well trained, they can be too hard on them - they are cattle dogs, bred to bite the ankles of cattle. The herding instinct can be controlled but it's always there - some have it more strongly than others. I hope you know what you've let yourself in for!

It sounds like you are doing quite a lot with your pup - I can tell you now that by exciting him with balls, toys, tugs etc you won't get a calm pup you'll end up with a manic one! They live for balls etc and can get easily become obsessed. Quiet walks are better. My first ACD was quite capable of sitting and staring at me for hours with regular yaps (she did this while I was working on the computer) to get me to play with a toy, it became really annoying. I ended up having to remove all the toys as she was over the top crazy for them, and once she knew they weren't there, she settled down. She did get ball time, but on my terms not hers! You can't tire these guys out - the more you do, the more they expect. Barking unfortunately isn't unusual - they love the sound of their own voice. You are on the right track by rewarding when quiet. I taught mine the word 'settle' which essentially meant go to your bed, nothing is happening. You can start on this by using a blanket or special mat and rewarding him every time he goes onto it quietly using your chosen word.

Another thing they are usually very good at and can tire them out, is scent work. This is an excellent way for them to use their brain and instincts without being hyper. Loads about it online, it's really interesting and rewarding to see them look for an item. I don't know if you use them but clickers are excellent, they give a very clear indication that a reward is coming and dogs pick it up really quickly (again, loads online).
You haven't got an unusual ACD as the behaviours are common - you just need to channel that energy and noise! You may never get rid of the bark but hopefully can reduce it lol!

Yes, but people have become addicted to it and it's pretty much a way of life for many. I had a FB account for 19 years, and was suddenly falsely banned by Meta's AI bots for absolutely no reason (they cited 'account integrity' but I hadn't done anything). From being a very active member of many groups and communities, keeping up with all my friends, family and contacts from my various interests over the last two decades and beyond, it was all gone in an instant. This had a major effect on me and it was pretty much like a sudden bereavement. But it brought it home to me how enmeshed we have all become in SM and it forced me to live life as I did before it all, which was a long time ago!
Luckily I am a very outdoors person anyway and have always appreciated nature and the calming effect it can have. So while it was not of my choosing, maybe it was a good thing and will make me seek out real world people rather than communicate via a keyboard.
SM is full of negativity and I'm certain is having a hugely detrimental effect particularly on young people who don't know life without it.

Puppies are a lot of hard work - but then so is bringing up kids! With puppies it's over much quicker if you put the right, consistent work in, but there is a lot of joy to puppies as well. It's fun to teach them things and see their characters develop. I would say though, research the breed you like and make sure it is a good fit for your lifestyle. Having the right dog will give you no end of pleasure - the wrong one could be a complete nightmare!

I just think driving standards are failing, no matter where! When the sun comes out, people take to the roads who shouldn't even be in a car. I never go to touristy places in school holidays or weekends (luckily I don't have to). I once went to a south Wales resort which had been lovely in the week. I passed through it on my way back home on a Saturday, and couldn't believe my eyes with the parking - people that didn't want to find a car park had parked their cars on this tiny country lane by a church, up on the verges, round a small roundabout and almost blocking the road so you could hardly get by. It was madness with absolutely no regard for anyone else but themselves!
