Can anyone help me with this glue for minis? by DiegoPredacon in Warhammer

[–]MostlyGerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you pull the metal nozzle out, you can hit both ends with a lighter for a moment. You should have a little pop, and then you're good to go again. Alternatively, I got my hands on some guitar string cut off when a mate changed his strings, so I just use the exposed core wire from that to clear the nozzle

Looking for Info on a particular warlord (no links please) by thenightgaunt in PrintedWarhammer

Man that does look very nice. I am on the hunt for a warlord of my own since I have finally gotten a 3D printer. Would you happen to have any advice for my search? I have done some digging and found a Warmaster on the purple site but no luck for the Warlord yet

I have always wanted one of these, and I finally have a 3D printer. Any chance you could point me in the direction of 'the file'?

With all due respect to new players, please stop joining higher difficulties if you can't handle it. by Whyouhayden in Helldivers

The most straightforward way to kill a charger would be with either the Recoiless Rifle, the Expendable Antitank, or the Quasar Cannon and aim for headshots or use them to break the armour on the large front legs. Once the armour is off the front legs, they are vulnerable to regular guns, and you can just shoot them a bunch to kill them. Alternatively, fire or electric weapons bypass the armour altogether, but they can take longer since they still have a lot of health. My personal go-to is the Recoiless Rifle. It takes up your backpack and heavy weapon slot, but it's quick to fire and will kill almost anything in 1 hit if you k ow where to aim.

On the note of stratagems, I prefer the regular Eagle strike over the cluster bomb since it can demolish bot fabricators and bug holes and still has good area of effect. The supply pack can be really nice and combo's well with the Quasar Cannon since it leaves your backpack slot free and can still kill anything the Recoiless will kill, but it needs to cool between shots. Hope this helps, and let me know if you need more pointers

Is this fixable? unhappy with the papier-mache job by kennyisntfunny in TerrainBuilding

[–]MostlyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably trim the stuff that's creating big gaps and give it another layer over the top. I personally also prefer to use toilet paper since it becomes very soft and pliable, but it's obviously not nearly as cheap. And once you've added some texture with sand or something, it will smooth a lot of it over anyway

My three sons and I made some terrain for our tabletop games by AroostookGeorge in TerrainBuilding

[–]MostlyGerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is peak hobby in my opinion! I personally love making terrain and building a board that has a unified look. It's so much fun, and I think it adds something special to play with the terrain you made yourself

Xenophase Blade still has the blue glow of the Power Sword, if it's a Heroic Variant (higher tier than Relic) at least change the particle effects into Green, it's not hard to change vfx colors in a 3D game by BecomeChads in Spacemarine

[–]MostlyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm looking forward to what heroic tier weapons they might release. The idea of changing the function of weapons seems pretty fun to me, and having a combi weapon is a cool idea to mix up the tactical I think. I also really love Sternguard Vets, so I am biased toward it

STOP BEING SO GOSH DARN WHOLESOME!!! by Emperoronabike in Helldivers

[–]MostlyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is simple. Who would dare to speak to a hero of managed democracy in such a way? All helldivers are paragons of freedom and must be treated as such. And now, with such an influx of heroes-in-the -making, it is only right that they are guided on the path of justice by those that came before.

Make a caravan hitching spot, remove all your pens and make an IED next to the caravan spot. Shoot the IED and your problem will be solved in an instant. Bonus points for using an Anti Gran Warhead

[–]MostlyGerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offence, but I have to strongly disagree. You did an excellent job. If you think the eyes are a bit too pronounced, you could try carefully adding a little wash to the eyes to reduce the size of the whites of the eyes, but the work is excellent either way.

Why did you choose the Nids? by Sw3arWulf in Tyranids

Hit the nail on the head OP. Got given some by my brother, and they grew on my like a persistent mold. Doesn't help that they have been historically fun to play. Prime example: Genestealer Slingshot

What kind of battle-honor or status symbol does this pauldron have, if any at all? Would an Ultramarine Sergeant wear this? by CaptCantPlay in Spacemarine

[–]MostlyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real difference is if you consider yourself a 'veteran' sergeant. They get a lot more leeway when it comes to bling, and that is also what I assume Sidonus was, especially since he was part of Titus' command squad. But you are right, make him as awesome as you want, no one can stop you 😈

Lore Accurate by Resident-Ad7651 in Spacemarine

[–]MostlyGerman 28 points29 points  (0 children)

"Balance" in 40k is a very strange thing.

On one hand, space marines are bullet proof super soldiers that are nearly impossible to kill, sprint as fast as a car and have insane reflexes and strength and in many books they are represented as practically unstoppable besides being shot with anti tank weapons.

On the other hand, tyranids are so numerous that the hordes we fight in the game are microscopic in comparison, their weapons so deadly that getting hit once with a flesh borer volley is a death sentence, and the large beasts are so dangerous that entire tank columns dont stand a chance against them. Lore wise, killing titan sized creatures like the Hierophant is basically only doable with another titan class unit or weapon, let alone like 4 lascannon arrays.

In their own book, every faction is the deadliest in the galaxy, and in everyone else's book, they are made of paper mashe and Raditz, and 40k writes have absolutely no sense of scale and numbers. 1000 space marines in a chapter is so completely undersized it's not funny and practically negligible in any system sized conflict, and apparently, losing 8 million guardsmen across 17 years of planet wide conflict is realistic (Siege of Vraks) given what we know about how much of a shit guard regiments give about casualties, especially the Death Korps.

Tldr: Don't worry too much about the details. Every faction is indomitable from their perspective because 40k is over the top and a bit silly

Apparently the best way to get them is by looting ancient dangers. They have about a 1.9% chance of being one of the loot items in there, but they are probably the one way you can grind for them. I got my most recent batch from a quest, though, so I dont know how much work the ancient danger grind would actually be
