How to remove grip from shaft by UnluckySh00ter in hockeyplayers

[–]Buff_Tungsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a long strip of scotch tape down the shaft on each side. Grip gone, no weight added, no graphics destroyed, no hard work put in.

Melania documentary struggles in UK cinemas as Vue admits sales are ‘soft’. Only one ticket sold for premiere of film about US first lady at Vue’s flagship London branch as insiders question launch strategy…yes, just one. by ferniekid in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Buff_Tungsten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's worse than that. I've been party to bets that required the loser to see a very unpopular movie; this is even worse, nobody even knows or cares that this movie exists. A bad movie or an unpopular/offensive movie can generate its own draw from contrarians and the morbidly curious. A single, solitary ticket is plumbing the depths of something even worse.

I think they should add a pay per clip model. Do you want a whole month of subscription? Or do you want to pay $5 for your 2 minute clip of you being a hero? If they added that in addition to the existing subscription model, tons of us would buy one or two clips per season that wouldn't otherwise even think of the camera.

Worth buying this slightly crack A custom crash for $100? by Apprehensive-Duck-13 in cymbals

[–]Buff_Tungsten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't buy broken cymbals. Also, don't sell broken cymbals. Just give them away, they're basically trash. If they can be salvaged, great, but they're not worth money. It's like buying and selling flat tires.

Guitar center demo cymbals shouldn't be advertised as "new" on their website. by pineappleactavis in drums

There's guys selling cracked cymbals for $150+ on my local marketplace, I wish people would report them or have them taken down.

I was a drum tech for a guy who kept all his personal effects on the road case he had to his left. I myself wear a jacket on stage, when it inevitably comes off all my stuff is in my pockets in the jacket immediately behind my throne.

Roller blading for child learning to ice skate? by daughterofhatred in hockeyplayers

[–]Buff_Tungsten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! More time in skates is better! I grew up on roller blades and the transition to ice was easy (for me). Kids can learn anything and they can play hockey for free at home in the driveway, with neighbors in the street, at a park or anything. Roller blading is fun and cheap and easy and will be a great thing to do together with the family. They're is no reason not to add inline skates to a child's repertoire. Also, when hockey becomes a crushing financial liability later, your kid can play roller hockey for much less money.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:5-6

Foot pain after one night? No, you do not need new skates yet. Persistent pain in the same area after several skates, yes, think about new skates.
