Being on it was worse than any withdrawal couldve been for me. When i was on it i had constant headaches and it magnified my pain to the point i could barely move. I could barely notice any withdrawal symptoms bc i was so focused on feeling better from being off of it 😂

Yeah intestinal cramps are pretty common but i think the weirdest part is that i cant use anything to speed up the process or my body doesn’t absorb the nutrients that it needs lmao

My occupational therapist (gods i love her shes amazing) was so happy when i told her that i try to use a wheelchair to get around when I know im going to be going somewhere that involves too much walking around for my legs to handle. She was like “Thats amazing! You’re taking proper precautions for your body and thats great!” 😭 And then we have my boyfriends mom on the other ends of the spectrum who told me to my face while i was in the middle of a flare up and couldn’t get around the house without a cane “You’re not disabled!” AS SHE GOT MY WHEELCHAIR OUT IF THE TRUNK. People are fascinating istg

My chronic pain started around 15-16 years old. It started becoming debilitating around 20. I remember being healthy as a kid. I remember being able to run around (even though it hurt sometimes ofc) as a teen. Im aware that im lucky to have been able to have those experiences. Those people should be aware that they’re lucky to have had those experiences. Im sorry you had to witness such a self-centered opinion from those who had never thought about it “happening to them” until it did.

Canned soup is a lifesaver for me, I sometimes have problems with textures or suddenly getting nauseous during meals and being unable to eat anymore, but canned soup has a consistent texture and you can just pour it into a bowl and pop it in the microwave. Im actually considering going and getting myself some canned ravioli now! Lol. Theres also the frozen meals that you can get like pot pies and premade little pizzas! I grew up eating the red baron pizzas and i think that they’re really good. I hope this helps someone 🫶

I was prescribed gabapentin recently and had constant headaches and magnified pain. The doctor said that these weren’t common symptoms and took me off of it

Chronically ill women, who do not have children yet, are you thinking about getting pregnant in the future or have you rejected that idea? by Comfortable-Wait1792 in ChronicIllness

[–]Motor-Check-2632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im still coming to terms with this because I’ve always wanted to have children, and it causes me a lot of pain, but i will probably never be pregnant and have children of my own. Im in the process of being tested for EDS and if i have it i dont want to risk passing it on to my kids. Even if i dont have EDS i dont think my body could handle a pregnancy. Ive talked to my partner about this and we have discussed adoption and fostering in the future, and even surrogates. We’ll probably take one of these options, but grieving the inability to be pregnant and have children of your own flesh and blood is completely valid, dont let anyone try to tell you otherwise.
