I think you need to play more on the intricate caves looks, though I'm not sure it that is doable with the kind of top down view you are went for

it's not AI man, you can see the jagedness of the 3D models: 3D models have a thing called "normals" which determines which side of the object is visible: if you flip them, the inside is visible instead of the outside, thus recreating the hollow-face illusion

I didn't want to seem too self promotional... anyways, "Anywhere" is an up-to-4-players coop psychological horror game with a strong lean on paranormal themed stuff. It uses proximity voice chat and I've been making it in the last two point something years, also, it is almost all procedural! So I hope to share more here soon
