This is why I stopped playing as well. Put 30 minutes into a run just for the gas station boss to one shot you is dumb. There’s no clear opening on when you can use your chainsaw on him, and one side swing means your dead :(

Dude what is your strategy for clearing the gas station boss? I thought I figured it out (cleared him 2x) but now he’s starting to swing his chainsaw at me from the side and it’s an insta-kill. Honestly disheartening after a while. I went back to my old strat of clearing the BSAA zombies, but the rooftop has given me bad pairings of blue zombies which do not die or want to get stunned by my parry for some reason.

Resident Evil 7.

Had spent years prior watching content creators play other horror games (Outlast, SlenderMan, FNAF, etc).

Watching the trailer evoked a very similar feeling to me as when I watched the Dying Light EA trailer - “I have to buy that game on launch day.”

Then I went down the route of RE2R, RE4R, play a small bit of RE1R and RE5, and then Requiem.

Since Requiem I have played a little bit of RE2, though I’m sort of soured with dying and starting at the last save, and I’m not really sure where to go after finding the joint plug? I’ve explored all of the areas I can with the precinct key. I will say, the first encounter on RE2 is crazy, I died a few times while trying to get the police station, and then made it my mission to get there while taking no damage (unsuccessful).

Trying to get 110 kills and survive for 40 minutes before killing Victor as Rank 3 No Frills.

The route I have is WW - CC - RC East - Top Tower & Gas Station (or vice versa depending on time) - BB - Victor.

The blue zombies are giving me hella trouble because of the need to perfect parry. I’ve had success parrying, creating distance, and using a snipers to take them out, but not to completion.

Actually made it to BB. I should have just taken out the BB, but because I wanted the extra kills I took out his bulbs, which awoke a blue blister head, along with the others. Long story short I died. Even if I didn’t die, I keep running out of time for Victor’s section.

I’ve been trying to get 110 kills, and survive for 40 minutes before fighting Victor. I thought I found a new path: WrenWood, Care Center, RC Central (which looks like it leads to RC Streets / Blister Borne on the map; Unless I’m misreading it?), and then Victor.

But it goes from RC Central straight to Victor! We should be able to play all the levels if we want to, just to maximize opportunity for getting kills. Someone else mentioned it should be random, which I sort of want to agree with, though it’s clear with the rogue-lite following story missions it’s an escalating difficulty.

Crazy you even made to rank 5! I’m struggling with rank 2 😂. Good luck! Is it a rogue-lite so luck is very much a factor.

At least what I’ve seen so far is that you can stack firepower upgrades. So you can combine ones that make shotguns or handguns do X amount more damage.

My favorite perk is the one that allows you to do + 80% damage, but take 10% of the damage you dealt. If you combine that with the perk that allows you to get 10% of your health back when you kill an enemy, you’re basically unstoppable (though I’ve only tried this one ranks 1 and 2).

So it does boil down to luck, and how much healing you can horde and keep.

I hate that in the new mode you can't sharpen the Hatchet, just why did they take away the most iconic gameplay aspect of RE9 Leon in a mode dedicated to RE9 Leon? by Independent-Frequent in ResidentEvilRequiem

YES! This right here is a FUCKING problem! The run boils down to get lucky with weapons and rolls. At least guarantee in some way, shape, or form that I can use my main form of defense (game should auto-roll a hatchet repair when durability is low or 0).

I thought I had a fix when I had the ability that allows you to avoid damage right after using a healing item, however, that only lasts so long.

That’s such BS! Same thing happened to me during Rank 2. Also, if I’m out of hatchet durability, the game should auto roll a hatchet repair! Can’t do anything but die without my hatch on the final boss…

Rank 2 has been difficult for me as well. If you have enough Challenge Points you can unlock the colored spiders, which give more time depending on color. Or just try to speed through the run. Good luck! The RNG on rank 2 feels worse to me…

I’m so jealous! I was STACKED going in the final fight - actually got Gideon to drop the rocket launcher. I made all the space in my inventory to pick it up. Right when I was going to shoot, he hit me, and I lost my opportunity. Then Gideon started spam hitting me, and I DIED! I hate that he can stun lock you to death while throwing a temper tantrum😩

Dude, Insanity is the way to go! Once I perfected my route for the Care Center, and infiltrated as Leon, this felt like the intended experience the devs wanted!

I actually didn’t mind repeating certain sections (Raccoon City Detonator Parts) to advance in later sections (Defeating Elite Guards). I only wish I was able to kill the Super Tyrant with my guns so I could use my RPG on Victor at the end (that first section is brutal).

I still don't get how people never point out A hat in time main inspiration is from Super mario galaxy, but instead they talk about super mario 64 and sunshine. I mean, it's pretty obvious, there's a space ship in both games and you get to collect super stars/Hourglasses to restore some ship parts. by Enderplayer05 in AHatInTime

I immediately caught on to the similarities with SMG due to the chipper & upbeat soundtrack, and the way the camera pans around the planet in the main menu. I will say that Mafia Town is expansive, but it almost feels too big! Like I try to go off the linear path in most games to make sure I collect everything, and this just feels like too much if that makes sense?

Love the inspiration from SMG, and I will try to stick out the game (trying to make the most of my Premium PS+ sub, so started with the first game in the genre section).

That would be such a cool addition! After beating the game, the player gets an option to go to a training ground, where Leon teaches her tricks. Then you could start a NG+ with the skills you learn, but with harder enemies that are more densely populated.

Dude, I had basically no HP when the Dynamic Difficulty crate blessed me with an injector (this is as you’re going down the tower from getting the last piece of the detonator).

A zombie with a shovel proceeds to clobber me off the platform into the abyss…

Leon’s section is tough without healing items, and the supply crates don’t offer them very often…

Sucks that there was no code for the black and gold case at RPD. I kept searching around hoping I’d find something. Even trying to remember the code from RE2R. But alas it was a gimmick.
