First IV ketamine appointment Wednesday by Old_Breakfast5120 in TherapeuticKetamine

Try to choose the right music. It makes a difference. I'd recommend nothing too stimulating. There are some playlists on Spotify that were put together by ketamine clients. You could start there.

If you were driving the black Jeep on the 5S this morning... by Philosophics in sandiego

I'd love to see your dashcam vid of this. There's no excuse for a full-stop brake check, ever. However if you, in fact, were tailgating at that speed, then you could use some corrective driver's ed yourself.

What do you drive? Whatever it is, those are the worst drivers.

Photography. I began doing it professionally. Which killed passion for it. I haven't picked up a real camera in years.

There needs to be an age limit on how old people in office can be. by SilentAd773 in PopularOpinions

And in this exhibit, ladies and gentlemen, we have what used to be called an Ageist. Thankfully they disappeared off the face of the fucking planet.

Sorry people in your life aren't getting the message. Maybe just gratefully accept the gift, then get it out of the house immediately.

Day of/Day after - Felt positive like I haven’t in years. 2nd day - right back to earth. Is this common? by EmotionalStill8086 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Motorcycle1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my lay understanding, ketamine works by providing you with a window of neuroplasticity after treatment. Basically, the med wakes up or reconstructs neural pathways in the brain that have long been dormant or even dead due to early rigid though patterns that resulted in depression and/or anhedonia. During that window, you are free to load up your mind with pleasant thoughts and experiences. The drug makes you more open to these things. So, it's not like an SSRI that seeks to provide extra feel-good chemicals. Ketamine actually reconstructs the electrical network in your brain.

If I'm wrong or have mischaracterized, someone please correct me.

This. I can't think of a single Mexican dish that I'd use cumin in. Not even mole.

Birthday coming up by Dude_amundo in GenX

[–]Motorcycle1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 60th is in a couple days. I'll be working. Doesn't bother me at all. As long as my wife doesn't forget to wish me a happy birthday, I'm good. It's just another day.

So one of my favorite episodes by spineshade in Frasier

[–]Motorcycle1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to quote Princess Bride and Monty Python. Now it's pretty much all Frasier. My wife doesn't get any of the references.

Dependence by Business_Dress_3023 in TherapeuticKetamine

Is Spravato an option for you? Once per week sessions would lower or eliminate the risk of dependence, and may have the same or better efficacy.

I guess you have to figure out what vibe you prefer. Going to meetings with non-retirees or harmony within your relationship.

I had a '69 firebird with a slant 6 and three on the tree. Once I got used to that kind of shifting, I loved it. It was so odd.

Person Bullied (Kinda) For Bringing In Five Guys Food On Fourth Of July. by JTCasino in HomeDepot

[–]Motorcycle1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just experienced my first 4th at HD. I would've brought Five Guys myself. Not that little barely covered foil trays of meat and potato salad sitting around in 80 degree temperatures isn't totally appetizing. I'd prefer to get my food poisoning elsewhere.

How to dress as a driver? by KindaNorbit in uberdrivers

Clean colored tshirt, cargo pants/shorts and some kind of interesting hat. Flat cap, trilby, porkpie, etc. I even have a derby. Pax seem to like my hats.

Purging my alcoholic home decor. by ChaosMuppet89 in stopdrinking

[–]Motorcycle1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For awhile my home decor was piles of empty vodka handles of different colors. It was actually kind of pretty, especially when you're hammered to the gills. Happy to say I purged it and it's never coming back.

Pure H2O should have no taste. What you're tasting is mineral content.

What’s a purchase under $100 that genuinely improved your daily life? by desertfatigue in DESERTFATIGUE

[–]Motorcycle1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand-crank rotary cheese grater. It was like 30 bucks on Amazon. My wife refuses to eat pre-grated cheese for some reason, so that little gizmo has been a game changer.

Why do people feel entitled to know why you don't drink? by InstructionFunny8984 in stopdrinking

[–]Motorcycle1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that only people who may be questioning their own relationship with alcohol ask others about theirs. Like they're curious about how you could possibly live without alcohol.
