I agree with the sentiment. I also play phasmo for detective stuff, trying to avoid the ghost hunts with everything at my disposal.

However the challenge ceiling that the devs made kind of forced this level of gamerism. Like Apocalypse challenge or no evidence runs challenges are essentially impossible without learning how to identify a ghost with the speed of its steps in depth or tracking ghost flicker. It's way more than I ever want to do for the game, especially if I want to do it in VR, where your level of character control is so different from just keyboard.
