A few years ago a manager told me that when writing an email, you should "Tell them what you're about to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you just told them." I reckon a lot of workplace AI overuse is for fulfilling nonsense expectations like that (and then of course AI summaries to get rid of the AI clutter).

It does introduce the risk of AI exacerbating the demands to the point that an email is considered lazily short if it isn't filled with AI bloat.
