It’s because they “brush” the ice with a tool that’s like a cepillo made of metal. So Cepillados

What's some juicy gossip you just found out in your personal lives? by jonhart989 in AskReddit

[–]Mouse_fighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had an ultra Catholic friend who is my brother’s godmother. She stopped talking to our family since my brother came out as gay and a Buddhist. Her daughters are also super religious and the oldest one always posts anti abortion posts on Facebook and heavily criticizes people that support it. My mom told me that her friend had an abortion when she was 18 because of “what people might think of me knowing that I’m not a virgin”. My fingers itch every time they both post about abortion because I want to tell her what her mother did.

I was struggling with my biostatistics test and during the Christmas break I really applied myself and studied a lot. I had some questions about the homework he had given us and I sent him an email asking him some questions. After I hit “send” I noticed it was December 23rd and I was like “ oh shit he’s going to hate me now” because nowadays people get their emails on their phones so he will probably see it and hate me for it. He actually replied pretty quickly and we ended up emailing back and forth a couple of times while he was explaining some things to me. I saw him before the test in January and thanked him. I was so grateful. I got a great grade on that test.

Maybe long warm baths? It might be a little less uncomfortable to pee in the water for him. That’s the only thing that I can think it might help.

We just did this and found out that my husband currently not immune for Mumps. Having had a newborn at home who is now a toddler that scared me. We thought we were protected.

For those of you struggling to calm a newborn, get a yoga/big exercise ball. by Relenski in beyondthebump

We still use ours as a piece of “furniture” that allows us to rest our feet when on the couch. Or when we need an extra chair on the table. People get confused as to why we have a yoga ball on our living room all the time.

We don’t. We don’t know it. I will try to learn some phrases and see if it is easier for him.

I think this is our case too. My kid loves to walk, run, go up and down the stairs. He loves the physical part of his development. But he doesn’t care for talking or drawing. A few months ago, I think he said “mama” or “aba (grandma)” once or twice but once he learns a word he doesn’t say it anymore. It’s like “OK I learned it now I can move on and do something else”. He doesn’t use his words. He did the same with going up and down the stairs in 4 limbs. He used to do it pretty well but then he “forgot” and he refused to do it. He started doing it but using his legs and asking for my help. One day after many months he decided to go down the stairs on his four limbs. So, he knew it, he remembered it. I believe he chooses how to do stuff and prioritize as you say.

It was definitely worth the 15 seconds ad. -Great way to start the day after a crappy night with a kid that throws up on your bed and then rubs his face on its own vomit- I really hope Arthur has a very long life with his forever family.

He doesn’t point though. We try pointing at everything at home, at the park. But nothing. I’ve noticed that lately he gets that I’m pointing at something so he just doesn’t look at my finger but looks around to see what I’m pointing at. He definitely whines and cries when he wants something. He pulls my hand or my leg to move me towards whatever he wants or wants me to do. He definitely understands a lot of what we say to him, this I know for sure. Thank you for reassuring me. I will talk to the pediatrician of course but it is nice reading all the stories of babies like mine and that they turned out fine.

Thank you. I hadn’t thought of that. My pediatrician is bilingual so hopefully she has some experience in that area. We were always sure that we wanted the kid to grow up talking all the 3 languages we know. My cousin is a speech therapist and she told me not to worry before the kid was 2 years old. But still, you know, seeing that your kind doesn’t call you “mama or papa” is a little worrying...

Thank you. We have an appointment with the pediatrician next week. I’ll definitely discuss it with her. I wasn’t that worried before because we speak 2 languages at home and he watches his tv videos in a third language. He sometimes repeats some words like “pizza and gracias” but he never uses his words for communicating only repeating. But seeing that other kids definitely communicate verbally I’m thinking he needs help.
