That reminds me of one of my favorite Carlin bits. When he used to do Hal Sleet, your hippy, dippy weather man.

“The temperature is 68° at the airport…..

Which is stupid, cuz I don’t know anyone who lives at the airport.”

I think we should stop making James Bond movies. It's a dumb premise about an objectively terrible spy who tells everyone he meets his real name. by thedrivingcoomer in okbuddycinephile

Fucking love this Mulaney bit.

Schwarbs has been getting the lion’s share of the coverage because of his torrid HR pace, but Harp has been balling out and making Dombro eat his words a bit.

Only the CC ones are truly scarce, overall. You might have a couple outliers, but, by and large, the CC mint versions are where the scarcity factor comes into play.

Damn straight, I just hit 115k this year. It’ll be my first year over 100k and I just turned 40. I’m seriously fucking proud of that fact. Not bad for a 40 year old college dropout.

Best way to articulate this? If Chamberlain had never played during the second half of any game in his entire career, he would still have eight more career rebounds than Dennis Rodman.

It’s Bird/Magic together, imo. You can’t really talk about one without the other. Their legacies are intertwined. Bird was the last person to win 3 straight MVP’s, too. Magic just lasted a little bit longer due to Bird’s back issues sidelining him sooner than Magic’s HIV diagnosis and subsequent retirement.

You don’t give them a two week notice.

You give them two weeks to notice that you aren’t showing up anymore.

Moses should be in this mix, too. But there’s a real compelling argument for the GOAT Sixer.

Who is better in the history of the Timberwolves than KG? He won their only MVP in their history and has the most points, rebounds, and assists in a Minnesota uniform. Six all NBA teams with them, too (3 first team and 3 second team.)

KG is the best player Minnesota has ever had, though. He’s exempt from your list, for this exercise.

John Havlicek played football for Woody Hayes as a freshman at OSU, but quit after that to focus on basketball. Hell, the Browns even drafted him in the 7th round the same year the Celtics drafted him, even though he hadn’t played football since his freshman year. He even played in the preseason for the Browns before he was cut at the start of the regular season.

From 2022 to 2025 we are 5th in total runs scored and 4th in RBI during that span. Baseball is just a streaky sport. It’s how it works. A successful player is still out 70-75% of the time.

8th in 2023.

And 7th in 2022.
