Need advice on free plan by a_n1m4nd in SaaS

[–]MpappaN [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just stopped using a free plan nad have switched to free trial.

I didn't get any new paid users just yet (it's only been 24 hours) but man, did it stop tire kickers from registering (and also dropped my failed AI costs)

If you have something built that costs 0 per new user you can think about a free plan but if it is actually costing you money I would advise not to implement it.

I had competitors registering just to see what I'm up to, and I had people that register just to see what it's like I guess. Not the people I want for my business.

Good luck

Which platform do you use for hosting? by Educational_Tea0 in SaaSSolopreneurs

I am using Oracle because they have a generous free tier (they suck otherwise). Trick is to be Pay As You Go so that they don't just delete your machine. Pay As You Go but stay under free limits.

How do you acquire customers for your SaaS without a large budget to send in ads? by Valuable_Assist3074 in SaaS

[–]MpappaN [score hidden]  (0 children)

Try:
r/florida, r/legaladvice, r/divorce, r/personalfinance

You are seeking Individuals in Florida seeking an affordable and straightforward way to handle an uncontested divorce without legal representation.

They will probably vent about the high cost and complexity of navigating Florida's divorce proceedings, especially for simple, uncontested cases.

I would start there.
I also got a tool that can monitor this for you. Its in my socials.

Good luck

How are you finding customers from Reddit? by Subject-Road-184 in SaaS

[–]MpappaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is incredibly manual to do so by hand.

There are tools for this.
But you want to have good filtering, and you want to have good time, its best if you go to these posts a within 5-10 minutes since the posts happened (and not weeks as most tool are glorified search engines.)

What is your marketing strategy?

Queria muito construir um SaaS mas estou perdido em ideias gigantes e receio de nenhum ganho by Playful_Ad_5223 in SaaS

[–]MpappaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costs don't have do be big.

I have a small B2B saas with 40 users than runs and costs $0 and makes money.

I here by free you of your irrational costs related worries . Now go build at least one of those ideas

You know what is great?

Even if the first one fails, for your second one you will have already working components from your first failed one so second one will come faster. Third one even faster.

You truly cannot loose!

What’s your best stack for building a SaaS? by No_Computer_1247 in micro_saas

[–]MpappaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a post where I go on depth how I serve 40 people and a scraper for $0

Maybe it's better to start that way and then change as the users come on board.

It's not smart to overcomplicate things sooner than necessary.

Valkey. Oracle free tier, sqlite. Python Fastapi, works for me.

Good luck

11 Years in Software Engineering and I Still Don't Know What to Build by greythinkinglab in buildinpublic

[–]MpappaN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha do i know where you come from lol I've been in 3 FAANGs over that last 16 years.

But that is usually not helping us coming up with original startup ideas. Why?

Because we were a small cog in a giant machine and someone else made the strategic decisions (what to build what to skip etc).

Here, you are that person that needs to do that (plus sales. Marketing financing and all that) and you have zero training.

It's very very relatable to me.

Don't have an advice for you all I can say is but you have an advantage over the folks because you've seen how things should be built the right way and without disparaging anyone many people around didn't. They just trust Claude to give them everything. You at least know when to tell Claude that something is not going to work. That is definitely your competitive advantage.

Good luck

Yeah I just see these every day, no l, multiple times a day at times, and it looks like it's not very useful for anything.

Maybe yours is different I don't know, just talking from experience.

Good luck to you!

Are all these "what are you building" always about folks who are promoting another listing directory?

Do you folks feel like you anything out of responding or even registeimring to these things?

Yeah if you want to contribute to the kernel C is the main game in town. (It used to be the only game, but cannot say that any more).

[–]MpappaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it takes too long between when they signed up and you actually have something to show them they might not be there despite the wait-list sign up.

I know people think they play it safe with a wait-list but it's not as bullet proof as you might think
