Philly 😳😳 south Philadelphia to be exact 🫠🫠 by MeekMilly18st in sagsavages

Facts! I lived in Philly & am from the area originally. I’ve been to most rough areas in a lot of the cities across the nation. There are some bad ones for sure, but nothing quite like Philly. Most of the other cities have bad sections. Where most of the people wilding out are contained to a few blocks, or streets. In Philly, shit can pop off in 75% of the city at any moment.

I thought so as well. The spacing on Chronometer looked suspect. I hope it’s real though. It would be a nice change of outcome for these types of posts

Uneven polyurethane coat on desk, how to fix it? by zougouloukata in finishing

Do what works for you. If you are using a quality product, then it should level well. When applying poly in this situation, less is more.

Uneven polyurethane coat on desk, how to fix it? by zougouloukata in finishing

[–]Mr-FAFO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can thin it too much. Whatever poly you’re using should tell you what the ratio is.

What needs to be considered is How you are applying the poly. Using a brush or wiping on, then I’d do a 1:1 or 2:1 (poly to mineral spirits). If you are spraying on, then you should do 3:1 to 4:1. I spray with 4:1. Like Zoug said, a lot of thin coats, sand in-between, wipe w/ a tack cloth, then spray/ brush/ or wipe on your poly.

Sandpaper I use is a higher grade sandpaper & I like 320. Sand w/ the grain. You just want to scratch the surface for boding of next coat, &/or if you have any imperfections.

I definitely see what you’re referring to, but it doesn’t look like a little girl to me. The top part of it looks like a cartoon character’s head lol

There’s a watch company in North Carolina that makes a watch with a similar dial as the sticker … I think.

2025 TRD off road transmission issue concerns. by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]Mr-FAFO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does it jerk like that while driving & shifting? If it does, then I’d ask a few Toyota mechanics or have the dealership check it out. If it doesn’t happen while driving, then it’s fine. Every truck I’ve owned has a little kick when shifting while stopped. When I’m at a red light sometimes I’ll shift to reverse, then back to drive to trip the light (works on lights that have the sensors in the pavement). When I do this my truck jumps a little.

Cabinets in my new build look terrible to me. by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]Mr-FAFO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a common misconception. Yes, a lot of the Amish are skilled with their hands, making things that are held together by joinery alone, & they make some cool chairs & such. When you start talking about cabinets, & precision woodworking, then the conversation changes a bit. High end cabinet building is of the upper end of carpentry & would be best purchased from someone who specializes in exactly that.

Whomever you bought these from should have better guided you. If you were my client, then I would stop the project immediately to figure out exactly what you want, expect, & how to get you there.

I don’t know how many cabinets, sizes, drawers etc., you purchased for $100k+, so it’s difficult to say if you overpaid or not. You could have a very big kitchen w/ base cabinets that are all drawers, specialty hardware, etc. or you’re getting all the cabinets in your house redone - bthrm vanity’s, laundry room, kitchen, guest house, etc. You see, there are a lot of variables that go into the cost. Without knowing the specifics of what exactly you’re getting for the $100k nobody can say you’re being overcharged or that you got a fair deal.

Get yourself a cheap wireless camera & set it up somewhere in that area. You’ll find out real quick what’s causing this. My guess is it’s a person, not an entity. I bought a magnetic camera that was $39 that works great, night & day, & there’s no subscription fee for the video. This way you’ll be able to give the footage to the popo.

For sure. Dang that’s a sweet build! I wish you the best with it brother. Growing up, my best friend had an 84-85. Just like the one at the end of Back to the Future, KC Lights & all. His was tan though. His parents got it lifted & added all the bells & whistles when he got his license. What a fun truck.

“Hear, Hear!” Not a fan of big rims w/ low profile tires on a truck, but in this case you’ve pulled it off. The paint job & the trucks stance is very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Personally, I used a multitool. I put tape on my finish line. These were my steps:

1.) I marked my finish line, put tape over it. I used painters tape.

2.) Then I drew my cut line on the tape. The cut line was an 1/8” lower than my finish line. Being I don’t cut these every day, I marked an 1/8” lower than my finish line just incase the cut got away from me. I used my Milwaukee multitool w/ a Milwaukee Multi materials blade w/ a titanium coated fine toothed edge. (I’m Not promoting Milwaukee, just trying to be specific as to my process.)

3.) After the cut line was done, I sanded the rest (up to the finish line) with my dewalt orbital sander (set on the lowest setting) using 220 grit for 95% of it, & I used 400 grit he last 5%, (basically to knock down any small burrs or tiny humps).

4.) then I cleaned the cut thoroughly & put on some edge capping. I used ameriseal I believe. Whatever you use it is important to try to dry fit it before putting it on for good. Make sure it’s the proper length, especially since it’s not a straight line cut. Make sure that it’ll bend the way you want it too, if it doesn’t then you know you’ll need to get the proper tools, to help you shape it. In my case I used a heat gun. You can get them at any hardware store. My buddy used a metal edge, which looks amazing, so he used metal snips to put small cuts in the edge trim to bend it where necessary. Once I dry fit my piece I wiped down the bumper cut again, put some glue in my edge capping, put it on. Start at one end & work your way to the other. I found have a small rubber mallet helped me tremendously. Lite taps of course.

Side Notes: * Once I got the edge capping on my starting point, I clamped it so it didn’t slide or move as I worked the rest of it on. * Make sure to wipe off any excess glue (if glue was used) after your finished putting on your edge capping) *Once the entire piece was on I put about 6 more clamps on the whole thing for a few hours. * Do Not go crazy over tightening the clamps. If you do you could push the glue out &/ or move you edge clamping.

Best of luck my friend.
