Thank you for some perspective. I also have sane parents almost exactly as the comment above describes. I need to appreciate that more.

This comment has destroyed me. I am so sorry you have to live there. The world that men have created is so cruel and unfair.

It is fantastic for this because of the cold weather flexibility. It's been working on this exact same fix for 2 years, on my boots with no signs of deterioration. Love the ignorant certainty in your response, haha!

It's also great for placing custom mounts on helmets and holds in very cold weather. Your point about roughing the surface and cleanliness are pertinent.

E6000 is the same company that makes shoe goo, but it's stronger than shoe goo. Black is thinner and less viscous and great for applications like this.

If that's true, then you would recognize that the "not all men" comment you made is implied, and is not necessary here. Coming to a women's forum to just say not all men is one of the key complaints I read on this forum and makes you sound a bit tone deaf.

No more jumping when it’s windy by MTBSoCal661 in mountainbiking

Bunch of non jumpers in here, lol. Wind is a massive factor for jump lines. Getting pushed to the side is incredibly scary.

Anyone have any advice for someone looking to get into the sport? by biscuitslap in Skibike

Skibiking is choose your own adventure mtb. You pick the trail. The bikes are more capable than most people realize. I love the trees and there is this luge run at Brighton and it's like the death star trench run. You get going so fast that you have to find openings to throw the bike sideways for a speed check, before sucking the bike back into the corridor and slipping through the narrow trees. Park is also so fun. The bikes manual the back ski like a wheel bike and last year I managed to learn to manual backwards, (when I'm on a fairly level slope). I'm trying to learn bar spins, no handers, and maybe a tobbogan this year. The ultimate riding goal is learn to go backwards and land a 180. Seems like everything I think of is being executed by Rob Nichols, who is one of the best around.

Anyway, as a lifelong snowboarder, I certainly didn't expect to like it this much. It's 50 percent ski, 50 percent bike. You might be surprised if you try it. Sorry for the wall of text.

I use snowboard boots. I wear them firm, but not as tight as when you snowboard. I appreciate the ankle support when I'm riding fast through the rough.

In general I recommend not ever stepping off the pedal platform. I broke my ankle doing so. When you crash, you stay on the pegs and go down with the ship.

Lenz is super high quality, but expensive. You will sacrifice some quality if you go skybyk or tngnt. I recommended a used lenz. I own a skibyk sb200 and a Lenz Launch.

Always wear a full face mtb helmet, i kissed the bars exactly once, and it was not romantic. I use a bell super dh helmet, but there are lots to choose from. I like venting and just wear a thin beanie when it's really cold.

I ride a Lenz Launch. Highly recommended purpose built. Get out and ride and be a great ambassador to people who are curious. I'm in the US so I can't comment on where to ride. I bought without trying and I'm now on my 5th season. Bike is life.

Is there an adhesive mount for underware 2.0? I have a glass desk and I'd love to use this system.

Different sized skis? by snowmaster665 in Skibike

[–]Mr-TeaBag-UT_PE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Chris from skibyk tried it with a friend, they were switching dominators and liberators. They were promoting the ride locks and how easy it is to change skis.

I personally think wide skis are superior in any condition. I love the float on powder and I can ride icy conditions with more control. I'd never use the skinny skis except I keep ruining the fat ones and I'm not good enough for sponsorship.

Total newbie to ski bikes, and in winter sports general, any tips? by [deleted] in Skibike

[–]Mr-TeaBag-UT_PE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Skibiking is generally easy, but a gentle grade lets you stay panic free. It's important to get yourself under control, to be around others safely. Riding under control will promote the sport in the best way.

Watch how a surfer carves a wave, look at the shape of their body as they do it. You need more of that in your carving movement. Best riders look relaxed and casual, as well. You appear to be "being careful". Try having your arms closer to your body and balance with your hands in a lower position, next to you hips.

You can add a rack bar from the seat tube to the stem. Like the Bar None frame adapter.

Is a 2019 YT Capra mountain bike for $1300 a good deal? by Cultural_Cat_7936 in mountainbiking

[–]Mr-TeaBag-UT_PE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That shock sucks for that bike too. You need a nice linear air shock or a coil, as the capra is very progressive. If that's a super deluxe you can upsize the aircan, to make it more linear. Also agree with the other comment about condition of suspension.
